One tip a neighbor told me that has been a cake maker for years, If you are using a glass pan. Or a dark dish decrease the temperature according to the package by 25°degrees. I have for the last 45 years. Been baking cakes at 325, There's something about baking them. Lower and slower that makes a difference. Just a tip to share. Also, if you bake something at a lower temperature a little bit longer, it doesn't get as dark on the edges. Your recipes look absolutely delicious ❤
Amber your Pistachio cake reminded me of a Watergate cake from the 70's. It goes like this: 1 box cake mix, 1Cup oil, 3 eggs, 1 Cup 7up or sparkling water, 1 box Pistachio pudding and 1/2 C walnuts. mix together and spread in 9 X13 cake pan. Top with frosting: 1 box Pistachio pudding, 1/4 cup 10x sugar, 1 cup cold milk, mix in small, beat at lowest speed of electric mixer until well blended about 1 min. fold in 8 oz tub Coo lWhip and store in fridge. Try it the walnuts really add to it.
Instead of using flour when you grease and "flour" ANY baking pans when making a cake, use some of the dry cake mix - this will keep the cake's flavor intact. No floury residue. You'll want to grease & "flour" the baking pan BEFORE you begin making the cake batter, so that any excess cake mix that doesn't cling to the grease can be tapped into the bowl you are making the cake batter in...
Thank you Amber … I volunteer at a soup kitchen a couple times a week and I bring desert for them. We serve from 80-90 meals, this is a small town of about 9500 people and there are more and more people in need. It is so sad but times are hard for so many. I was blessed to be able to help so I do what I can. The desserts you are making this week will be grateful for Wednesday, thank you again Your sister in Christ Nicole 🙏🕊💙✝️💙🕊🙏
With a Duncan Hines Perfectly Moist Classic White Cake Mix, I made the pistachio bundt cake for my grand-daughter's high school graduation party. Her school colors were green and gold, but the closest I could get to gold was the Duncan Hines Creamy Lemon Supreme frosting (so delicious you can eat it as is!) I used coconut oil (partially solidified) for the oil. I could not get the spray and flour technique you showed to work in the pan so it came apart in spots, so I had to glue the few broken crown pieces together with frosting. Applied the frosting lifting up the spatula while spreading for a ripple effect then pressed whole shelled pistachios all around the top. Everyone loved it. I've since bought the same ingredients and added a can of Pam for baking with flour. Next time I would heat the frosting in the microwave and pour it over the cake.
Oh my goodness, those cake pucks are BEAUTIFUL. They'd be so pretty for a bridal shower with a real pansy flower on top! Thanks Amber and Happy Easter. ✝🙏🏻🐰
Your mother is right about cracking the eggs into a separate bowl. Recently I cracked open an egg and the yolk was BLACK! If I hadn’t cracked it into a separate bowl all would have been lost 😢
Home made non stick goo: 1/3 cup each of vegetable oil, ap flour and crisco. Mix throughly. Pour or scoop into a wide mouth pint jar. Its shelf stable. Use a pastry brush to coat interior of any pan you don't want to stick.
The last one is stunning it reminded me of dingdongs!😂 i’m definitely going to make those with dark chocolate and peanut butter cake pop mix! Love all of them thank you so much, and God bless!! 🙏🏽💜💯💯
Thanks so much Amber! I made the pistachio bundt cake for Easter. I used the 3 eggs and it turned out great! thanks for the tip on the bundt pan by coating it, it came out perfect! I used the Dolly Parton butter cream frosting and thinned it in the microwave and drizzled over the top. thanks for this great video, now I need to try the others! Happy Easter!
i have made the pistashio bundt cake for years..its my family's favorite. i take it everywhere to potluck parties as well and have given out the recipe so many times! easy and delicious!
Mad props for keeping everything hilarious in the video, unedited. I loved the utensil breaking during stirring! Haha (I’m being sincere.) And the final cake shots are gorgeous!
I made the pistachio Bundt cake using 3 eggs and it was delicious! Also changed out the pistachio for lemon instant pudding, added 1/4 100% lemon juice and reduced the water to 3/4 cup and it was also wonderful! Thanks for sharing this easy, delictable recipe
With the cake pucks, to get a more consistent coating, you need to tap them to get all the air bubbles out. And it also helps if you freeze the cake part.
I'VE HAD MY BAKING PANS FOR MANY YEARS, FOR NON STICK USE; 1/2 C SHORTENING 1/2 C COOKING OIL 1/2 C ALL PURPOSE FLOUR MIX WELL UNTIL INCORPORATED BRUSH YOUR PANS BEFORE ADDING BATTERS OR BREADS 👍🏽😁
@@ruthchamberlain1058 I store it in the fridge in a jar,If you want more, just do more equal parts (example) 1 c flour 1 c oil 1 c shortening This is for alot of baking I usually make a little bit at a time👍🏽have a Blessed day🙌🏽💖🛐🪶✝️🧚🏻♀️
Just mix 2 Tbl flour plus 2 Tbl oil, mix well and put on any thing that calls for oil and flour to grease a pan. I use a pastry brush to spread it in the pan - nothing ever sticks and you can store any left over in fridge.😊
You and Sammi @Sammi May- Managin the May's should have collaborated on this video. She shared some delicious cake box mix recipes today, too. I love watching you both for delicious recipes.
@@MrsAlmaTrumble Honestly it's a tough one. I had to go out twice yesterday which is very hard for me, especially cleaning several inches of snow off the car with an unexpected trip first thing in the morning. But God has given me some great sermons to watch today & videos like this! And I have to say, the snow is so beautiful & I will miss it when any heat gets here, I'm a northern girl through & through. 🙂 I hope you are well and had a great Lord's Day?
@@debgalloway1398 I understand that, friend. We had to leave church early today because I was having a bad Crohn's flare-up that wouldn't ease up. Snow is beautiful and reminds me of my late mother-in-law.
I think with the drizzling part if you had added some fresh blueberries in there and mixed all that together really good in the processor, you could’ve drizzle that on, and you would’ve had a little blueberry flavor there, too
Made the Watergate cake alot in the 70s. I don't like cool whip or cream so I just added a scoop of ice cream with my serving that I fished out before I added cool whip. Everyone was making that cake lol yummy
After watching this video which is the first video of yours I’ve seen, I subscribed. I loved how you showed how and talked through each recipe, and your video wasn’t too long. Everything was perfect.
They do have PAM for baking (and some stores have their own brand like Great Value, Hy-Vee, etc, or Baker's Joy which do have flour in them. They work amazingly! I have never had to grease and flour a pan since they came along.
Cooking spray just runs down to the bottom of a bundt pan. If you butter and flour your pan instead of using cooking spray, your cake won't stick. Just make sure you get the butter and flour into all the grooves.
I wanted to tell you this about my subscription. I was subscribed but it had me subscribed for personalized and I wasn’t getting your videos. I watch so many and hadn’t even noticed and that upset me! Bc I like you! And I liked your recipes! Just so you know what’s going on! But yay! I get to binge watch now! Girl! You have that nice kitchaid mixer! Use it! We have been buying those cake pucks at a high price! Now I can make them myself! I’m so excited to try them. First I gotta order that pan. Thank you so much for these recipes! I’m so happy that I’ll be getting your videos again! And I can binge watch the ones I missed! I counted and there are 10 videos that I missed.
That's one of the best cast iron bundle pans ever made! I have 2 just like it! Google how to buff out the scratches. It will last you a lifetime & your children's lifetime & there children's lifetime..lol! I have my grandmother's & I'm 62 & have had it since I was 20 & it make the best cakes ever! 😊
You know, the first piece of that pistachio cake you cut looked kind of like a baby chick! I've been making a Chocolate-Peanut Butter cookie for years with a devil's food cake mix that is a hit with all family and friends & so easy! I have tried many great cake mix recipes and love these, thank you for sharing!
@@FeedingtheByrds I had a slice of an Italian bread once that looked like a bunny. It was so cute! I even have a cookbook with all cake mix recipes. I love to create my own too, especially cookies. My niece's favorite is caramel & it's fun to put a small piece of caramel on waxed paper then press your no bake cookies down on top of it. Yummy!
I made the pistachio cake yesterday. Although the texture of the cake was very nice with the 5 eggs added, there was absolutely no pistachio flavour from adding just the pudding. I would highly recommend putting some pistachio extract in the batter. I couldn't find any in our area, but I think it would add a lot to this cake. Instead of the powdered sugar dusted on top, I made a glaze of powdered sugar and orange juice, then sprinkled on some crushed pistachios.
Our oven element went out. Just the bottom one. I got one from Amazon but it didn’t fit. So I had to go to ace hardware and found one. $50 later! It’s pricey but much cheaper than a new oven. Plus anything that’s new just doesn’t last the same as the older items.
Yikes! I broke a spatula like that one and inside was a mess of mold! I will never use one that is not one single piece again. Edit: i forgot to say thank you for these recipes! My grandchildren will love those cake pucks!❤
I have been making "Green Cake" for many years. My recipe is slightly different. It's a Christmas Brunch must. And I have an old fashion bundt cake pan that is a Pine Tree design......My recipe has a nutty cinnamon swirl layered filling, uses sour cream in the batter. Very Good. And I have used different pudding flavors with and without the filling, and baked in loaf pans(2 pans per recipe)
When people used to get their eggs out of the hens nest that is why they had to take them and crack them one at a time in a separate bowl because sometime the egg was not good but since the days of automation and super strong lights to shine through the eggs when you buy them in the supermarket they have already been tested and is not necessary to crack them separately
About the eggs, I like to put them in the mixing bowl first and then add the other ingredients. That way if there is an issue, you can fix it before the other ingredients are in there.
if you like a cake box cake. mix it like on the box and take your bread machine, take the paddle out - spray and dust with flour.- pour in cake mix - select the cake or bake selection - almost texture like a pound cake
I love watching your cake demos...please buy a solid rubber spatula ...(all one piece) because the other ones that come apart get mold in the stem end under the head that pops off EW!...pudding cakes are GREAT! Thank you😍
@@FeedingtheByrdsI’m new right now to your channel today….can you tell me what you mean by your homemade one? I thought these were all just processed box mixes……is there a brand that is not processed? Or do you mean you make cake mixes from scratch too…..sorry just confused lol but love your channel and will subscribe today!
I have your recipe for homemade cake mix how much cocoa would you put in it for a chocolate cake that's only flavored husband will eat I will use the flavor pudding mix like you do for other flavors so it would be regular size small box of pudding mix you didn't say when you did the pistachio blessed evening❤
You can't get all the different flavours of even Betty crocker cake mixes in the UK only a handful or all the butter icing flavours either or pudding mix
