Turning 40, 19 year old son and soon to be 14 year old daughter. Reliving these memories. Apparently my old music is Fire? Is that what the kids say these days? Lol
Yea but it's weird af how tom delonge and mark hoppus had this petty cold war of side-projects using travis barker. I honestly believe this project existed as a message to mark - not quite sure what it is, that's their business. But not just releasing it as an experimental blink album and only inviting one of your bandmates to do it is... cmon. Not to mention the music sold well, it represents alot of royalties.
@@hansolo631Tom said that the only reason he invited Travis is because he decided to pay for the whole record himself (before labels got involved) and he wanted to save some money by asking him to play for free. That was a big mistake because Mark felt he wasn't invited, but it was just a favour, lol. BCR wasn't supposed to be a band, just Tom recording with some "studio members" he paid, but he invited Travis and Travis invited some friends who would also play for free, and then things happened...
I used to listen to this song on repeat on the bus driving home from away football games (I was in the drumline). The girl I liked had a boyfriend and I was a little emo bitch. Still a great fucking song, though.
Is it strange that I haven't heard this song for about 15 years but was able to sing every single word? Love this album!!! Hit the spot in high school just when I needed it and still does.
Same! my big brother used to play it when he came back to live with us when I was 10. I’m 26 now and was just singing this word for word in my room, I didn’t even know who sang it or what it was called but luckily I found it strait away.
Not at all. When i saw tbs and straylight run last year, hadnt listened to them in forever and was surprised i knew words to songs i thought id forgotten
If you play two different instances of this song with one being a lower volume and about 5-7 seconds behind the other, it sounds like a really sexy remix. The things i discover at 5 am
The man's girlfriend died. He used to play at her window on their anniversary. Every time he would play she would open up her window. He decided on the anniversary the year after her death that maybe if he played loud enough, she would hear him and open up her window to see him one last time. But as it goes, our worlds are separated.
Erin Dary now my face is melting thats a lot deeper.. :( just heavy emotions. I came here to cry and think about my ex and now it got heavier ty for the possible meaning
Back in third grade (five hundred years ago), there was this cuuuuute girl in class. My first crush as a whatever-the-hell-old-year-you-are in 2002-2003. Every day after school, for months, I'd come home, put this song on repeat on my CD player (that's right - CD player. A thing that you held in your hand and walked around and did shit while it played ONE CD at a time), and worked on my "love letter" to her. With everything mispelled and written like a drunk. Never showed it to her. Never even let her know that I liked her. But it's odd how, at 32 years old, listening to this song brings me back to something I did when I was 12 or 13. Never let anybody tell you that music is meaningless - because it has the power to make you feel things you felt almost 20 years ago.
I have a 15 year old son who has tourettes that comes with involuntary twitches and he just broke up with his girlfriend because she couldn't understand it. He asked me if there's "someone out there just like me". Broke my heart, but made me think of this song. I told him like the song says, that "there is".
I'm 35 and yelping and twitching all the damn time, lol. Been that way since I was in elementary. I've never had problems getting the chicks and I'm married with two sons, one being his age. I have a middle class job own my own home along with alot of toys. life is Good. My neighbors sometimes stare my way when I'm in my yard making loud noises and screaming curse words, lol. And they probably think I'm yelling at my wife and kids lol. Let him know there is alot of us that have gone and will continue to go through what he does. Life is good. Make sure you just do your best to get him to understand that. When life gives ya lemon's, make lemonade.
@@squareone4407 I'm sorry for the late reply. Your words mean so much me. When he struggles I end up watching and listening to this song. I really appreciate your positive message. Sucks watching your kid struggle and worry about what kind of life they'll have.
My older sister used to play this in her room when I was little and A&A Secret Crowds She passed away on her birthday last year, in May. She always listened to amazing artists, still listen to them to keep her in good spirits. I miss you Jeana Edit: thank you for all your support and kind words. In 6 hours it's her birthday. May 19th
No lie. I discovered Box Car Racer in the past couple of months as I was going through a rabbit-hole of recommendations and suggestions. Starting 2020 with discovering their discography along with Angels & Airwaves.
45 years old now and this song takes me immediately back to 2002 Ohio driving home to original to see my gf. Can’t believe that’s been 22 years ago already. Time is a b.
Forsakened Gardevoir Well Tom quit the band for sure, Matt Skibba most likely will be the new guitarist, and will most likely be a new album within 2 years.
And that affects you how? Who gives a shit if people like other things that you don't? There are a lot of people out there with different tastes in music. There is.
I remember when I first got my BCR CD.. I carried it in my purse..so I could hear it in everyone's ride I rode in!!!.. Still jamming it today!!.. Tom's voice is just too beautiful!!💜💚💜👽💚💚
its not easy being smart inside the emo world.. youll die fast if you dont know what the hell youre doing. Biggest risk is probably becoming un-caring of that fact.. as you become that which you practise. Or even just practise what you already are.
This hit home so bad. My best friend and I fell in love with this song. He died in a car accident in the rain and I can't watch this clip without crying even 12 years later
Anyone listening in 2052? Damn. This song is 50 years old. I remember being 17 and my brother bought this CD. Now I'm nearing 70. Wow. I'm getting old.
Bruh. Your comment is 2 years old which means you're 32 right now, same here man. This was always my fav Boxcar Racer song. I loved that whole album but this song always stuck out. Rock on, oh and, BLINK IS BACK TOGETHER!
i remember how i used to feel when i heard this song years ago, i was in my early teen years, and still enjoyed it thoroughly. I miss that simple mindset i used to have
Can’t believe I stumbled on to this song. What an incredible song and how much I loved it in my 20’s I’m almost 40 now. What a jam!! Bringing back memories
That there’s someone out there who feels just like me ,hit me all the time never related to a lyric more love this song Tom is fucking amazing thank you for saving my life
BCR still exists: it's called Angels and Airwaves. They aren't the same band, but they're the same 'thing': Tom's personality in the moment emulated in the form of art. Back in '02 he wanted to experiment with things he deemed not suitable for blink, and BCR happened. When blink broke up he started a band with three guys who liked the concept that Tom presented to them. AVA is Tom, just like BCR was Tom. I'm sure BCR would still be around if Mark wasn't that bothered by it.
10 years later this song still hits in my heart 😞. I can remember the times having heartaches so much and I would play this whenever I was depressed. But this song always comfort me at those times. When you young and people take advantage of your love for them? It’s a terrible feeling
Picked up blink right before my sophomore year, in 2021. fell in love to the point where I listened their entire discography every day. I'd wake up to Dumpweed and finish the album before I got to school, went straight to TOYPAJ, then to Dude Ranch, Untitled, "Not now" Dogs eating Dogs, and then Neighborhoods. I Didn't discover Boxcar until February of my Junior year. But as my obsession with blink has eased, I still find myself connected to Boxcar time and again. Def one of my favorite albums ever.
I can’t believe I forgot about these jewels I love them so much in middle school these song got me through adolescence love this band as much as I did as a young girl ❤️✨💕🌙☁️🕊
I'm 43 and I still rock to toms and blinks tunes just as loud now as I did back in the day here in Australia in the mosh pit off chops when they would come over.... aaahhhh the good ole days
Well we were all waiting this voice to come up in "California" but sadly they are all singing apart, what can we do? Cross fingers and hope they soon go all together again XD
And here ladies in gentlemen, is the single greatest song tom has ever written, followed by anomaly, story of a lonely guy, even if she falls, what went wrong, time to break up, asthenia, I miss you, the adventure, and I feel so
