After 1-2 years of watching your Total War stuff, youtube throws me a curveball and turns out you also helped people learn guitar too! Very cool! Im a beginner piano player, so was trying to catch onto this interesting idea, but even more blown away finding such a different, yet similar side of you here :D.

Super simple, to the point... exactly what a guitar lesson should be. Thank you.

Great video! But in the end, your tabs were a little off, You skipped two frets on accident instead of one! Just thought I’d point that out. Keep on jammin man 🤘🏻🇺🇸🤘🏻

Theory into practical application presented well. I have watched all 7 videos. Is it correct think that you use the specific mode box over the matching chord in the progression? For example , if major key is C, when backing music is playing the Dm chord, you play the dorian mode box over it? Maybe I am trying to simplify too much.

+Theo It depends more on the starting chord in your progression. If you're in the key of C, and start a chord progression on C, then play a D Dorian over the top, it will just sound like you're playing in C major. If you start your chord progression on a D minor chord. Then your scales will sound Dorian.

Would the solo phrasing need to emphasis the D note to get the Dorian sound.

+Theo Sorry for the delay my man. Ummmm no not neccessarily. But you could do to add a flavour to it!
