Uh, I think cabovers kind of beat you guys to it... They had a similar design for cabover day-cabin trucks back in the 60s and 70s. Edit: Freightliner, 1951 - '58 was the first years for the overhead sleeper.

If you drive a box truck then there is no reason why you need a sleeper. Unlike a real truck driver you get the quality of sleeping in your own bed.
