Had to do this! Bit of drum and bass cajon and a catchy tune.. All FX done live using the iPad. Any questions hit me up, and as always if you like it, subscribe and like me on Facebook: / soldierskneesandtoes PEACE!
Loved it...and loved the fact you filmed yourself recording it. Are you using speakers as the drum pads...battered my head trying to work out how you've done that. Will add this to my gym playlist for CrossFit mos def!
It's the first video i'm seeing in your channel and it's mind blowing! great technique and the fx is a nice touch. Witch mic do you use? I'm curious if it's possible to mix delays, flangers, phasers to the overall sound as well. Tks!
+Matthew Whitehouse Cajon I'm sure they are :) Hey, I was also wondering about your finger dragging technique. Do you think it's possible to do that with most Cajons? I'm guessing the texture varies somewhat from Cajon to cajon?! I'm been really fascinated with Cajons lately, and wanted to get into it myself. It just seems so much like my kind of instrument. So before buying 1 (not opting for the cheapest as I actually want a good experience), I'd also appreciate pro tips from you before I buy one. There really aren't all that many Cajon players here in Norway.
Thanks man ! You are really awesome ! From yesterday I just keep watching you playing on cajon. Even if I am 41 (on 27 january) I discovered this amazing instrument and since than I cannot let pass one day without exercising ... like it became a part of me. Fortunately, I found your channel ... a lot of stuff to learn ! Thanks !
Box Beater absolutely! manufacturers seem to bringing out a host of electronic cajons now, but it would be great to know what can be done if you wanna keep with your acoustic setup with added effects.
Well, you know...your daily skin care routine would make for great vlog content. If not, then I think it would be pretty interesting to have videos of the build-up to a cover. Often we're translating what's happening on a full kit onto cajon - so there is the process of "what sound am i looking for", "what techniques (hand techniques - not-equipment) should i use for the sound", "what techniques (equipment/effects) can i apply". So it would be cool to see - pt 1 the making of, then pt 2 the finished cover. You could also take requests. "Control" by Matrix & Futurebound came on the radio the other day. That might make a good cover for DnB with live fx processing.
