Hi Matthew, first thanks for all the great videos and sharing your experience. I know this trick fro playing congas, well for me to get this working on my cajon (which ia a Meinl), I had to loosen the frontplate screws all around, up and down, and I also think it can be difficult if your cajon i painted and so too smooth (like mine is, so I sanded it a little) Just my tips for everybody :)

Does it need to be a certain type of Cajon?

You can't press the cajon too hard right?

I picked up my Cajon yesterday. I can do this a little bit but not nicely and music sounding wise. Must say that licking my fingers doesnt work at all it just makes it slide more

hey mathew, with the push of the technique is there another way to produce the sound? because my skin on the tips of my fingers pull backwards, hence bleed at times. was it the same for you?

Can this be done with a wooden cajon with a smooth surface?
