From the moment ufc 2 hit video shops like mine everyone, well all us lads knew what ufc was n knew who Royce Gracie was, all my fight conversations changed n from then on I was saying things like Royce could beat mike tyson lol who for our gen was the ultimate wrecking machine in our eyes till that point, ufc was known by all us lads from then on but chances to see it were few n far between till late 90s when dvds started being sold of ufc 3 4 5 etc then it became available more regular on telewest cable, events were every few months or something going off memory, just took a long time for the mainstream to acknowledge it, even bisping got practically no press when he started in ufc but to me it was big news n I was buzzing about it, ufc 2 blew our minds cos till that point we never even considered that there were other ways of fighting that could potentially beat the hardest punchers n kickers on the planet, great podcast by the way.

I love this guy, I actually love his personality so much too lol. One hell of a fighter too :P

Paddy, and I'm saying this respectfully, please change your lifestyle and eliminate some of the people you allow around you. A champion's life doesn't include frequent visits for garbage food, and it doesn't involve an ego so large that the truth is disregarded. Don't listen to those who only smile in your face, clap you on the back, and tell you to live your life however you want. They're not only ignorant to the monumental effort it takes to grasp and retain greatness, but they also don't have your best interest at heart. A true friend and mentor will take you aside, grab your shoulders, look you dead in the eye, and with every ounce of love that exists inside of them will tell you to change how you're living and training or risk complete ruin. You've earned a life that so many would kill to have. Don't waste how much better it can become by ignoring bad martial habits and living an undisciplined lifestyle. All the best.
