ChutneyPedia brought you a great idea for your Christmas leftovers, we call it "Boxing day chutney" ( Ale chutney), it's best for your leftover vegetable and fruits. Ale chutney is sweetly spiced with vegetables and plenty of tang.
Ingredients:
Swede: 1
Garlic Paste ( 2 Cloves)
Onion ( 3 Medium )
Carrot ( 2 Large)
Apple ( 2 Medium )
Mustard Powder: 1 and 1/2 Tbsp
Dates: 175 gms
Ginger Powder: 2 Tsp
Nutmeg Powder: 1 Tbsp
Black Pepper: 1/2 Tsp
Salt: To taste
Black Treacle: 2 Tbsp
Tomato Puree: 140gm
Cider vinegar: 100ml
Light Brown Sugar: 1 Cup
Pale Ale: 500ml ( Gluten-free)
Method :
In a thick pan, Add Garlic, Onion, Carrot, Apple, Mustard Powder, Dates, Ginger Powder, Nutmeg Powder, Black Pepper, Salt, Black Treacle, Tomato Puree, cider vinegar, Keep mixing well
Now, Add Light brown sugar and Pale Ale ;
Cook for 35 minutes approximately.
Can be stored up 2 months in a sterilized jar
