Don King pushed Steward to a point that he decided to split with McClellan. McClellan’s response here was based on Steward’s comments and decision to not waste time on him anymore. What else was he supposed to say? For Tyson, his problem wasn’t cutting Rooney out. His problem was that nobody had the authority to check Tyson’s behaviour or push him away from distractions like D’Amato could. He would have went downhill regardless. Don King was just there to secure his bag.

Replacing Manny Steward with that dickhead that wore a sailors cap was a detrimentally bad decision in more ways than one sadly.

@@BoxingOutsidetheRopes there was no fluke it was cheating ducking below the waist line and rabbit punches and that ref was payed off would of been over in round one if not for that horrible man what a shame he would of been one of the best. I heard lisa mcclellan say on a interview once that the coner had said someone had put something on his mouth piece but then retracted there comments when questioned about it .

@@wolves1980 G-Man was awsome, but he lost to to another elite supermiddle weight, one of the best fights boxing has ever had in any era. Same thing with Michael Watson a few years earlier, you can't be surprised at that kind of outcome when cannons like that are being exchanged, and it is certainly ludicrus to call his injury 'fluky'.

@Marty TDD mate Gerrard was robbed that night first the referee was terrible or paid off. look at the first round then look at the rabbit punches the referee let go. As for ben he is a disgrace he hit Gerrard on the back of the head about 20 times round 9 being the worst also ducking below waistline line and we will never no but he collapsed so no drug test then jumped on a plane a few days later .
