My cleto reyes was extremely tight on my ears my winning one is great yes its snug around my cheeks but its not painful like the reyes one was

Another question for you, what do you recommend for sizing? I've read that the new style fg-5000 runs a little smaller? My head is 22.5 and it's right between the medium and large. What do you think I should go with for a better fit?

Tamir Dayya go with large I have a similar size head and I now wear large fg5000🥊👍🏼

@fabiolito28 I had the cleto Reyes and I sold it after a few sparring sessions. It only comes as a one size fits all and once I started to sweat the head guard would move a lot even on medium shots. Personally I think it is worth buying the winning one. It fits very snug around the cheeks and it doesn't move at all. I tied the back up once to suit and just slip it on and off without re adjusting the laces. In my opinion these two head guards are worlds apart.

Unfortunately the one size fits all will always fit some better than others. At least with the winning one you can get a size to suit yourself. There is no right or wrong answer it boils down to personal preference. Good reveiw tho :-)

Thanks for the help. Just bought one the white on Gen International Japan on Amazon. One Question How long will it last if you use it a lot in sparing. Would I have to replace it two years or so.

Alright mate, I've got the FG2900...how would you say the full face compares to that? Is it worth buying a FG5000 aswell mate? Also what do you think of the high protector v the hip protector groin guard? I've got all blue winning gear and am curious as to whether to experiment with the high cut guard and the full face guard. Cheers mate, Tony

Thanks a lot for the reply! The fg5000 is supposed to be 15oz going off the winning website. Is it noticeably heavier than the 2900 or do they feel around the same in weight? Is head movement still able to be achieved well in the headguard? cheers T

Hi I recently bought this headguard I was wondering how should it (more or less) fit? Is the bar suppose to be right under the nose? How much space should their be from the face? Should the bar be tight to the face? Thank you

LaMaravilla Martinez once you have it on you can squeeze the sides in as the aluminium cage inside is designed to change shape this will give more room at the front , it should be worn so that when you tuck your chin down and look forward you will be able to see (so the bar is across the nose not in front of the mouth)hope this helps👊🏼👍🏼

My head size is between 23.5 - 24 inches, should I go with a snug fit which is Large? Or something with more allowance like LL?

The winning size guide is as follows. HEADGEAR Size List (FG-2300 & FG-2900 & FG-5000): Medium: 21.0 - 23.0 inch / 54 - 59 cm. Large : 22.5 - 24.5 inch / 57 - 62 cm. 2 Large: 23.5 - 25.5 inch / 60 - 65 cm. you may want to go LL

Ashan Sanjeeva I found them easy to keep clean Wipe them over use Put them in separate bags in my holdall Don't ever put them on the floor to pick up dirt from the gym floor👊🏼👍🏼

My head measures 21 inches but I weigh 180 lbs should go with L or M? I've seen the size chart. I'm just not Pacquiao sized.

You might be good with medium👍🏼 I have large my head is 22.5 inches and I have a european nose 👃🏼😆👊🏼👍🏼

vladislav dorovski My sparring headguard is a fg5000 Fg5000 has better nose protection but less vision Fg2900 less nose protection but better vision So it is a trade off As to what you personally prefer👊🏼👍🏼

Do you find the padding way more stiff, I have both fg2900 and fg5000 and I find the padding on fg5000 way harder and less absorbing of punches

Yes the fg2900 is a soft lightweight headguard the fg5000 is a robust full face headguard with an aluminium cage inside the face

@@Fit2Box yeah I was a bit disappointed with my fg5000. My forehead felt sore after compared to my fg2900 where I normally didn't feel much but maybe I need a break in period.

Alex Sainz remember it’s not a crash helmet I have worked a tremendous amount on my hands defence so not much gets through to the headguard

joe g You can manipulate(squeeze them in) the sides of the headguard to create 'some ' extra nose room👊🏼👍🏼

+Fit2Box spared with my cleto Reyes redesigned tonight and got a bloody nose it's useless with straight punches and jabs the glove come in clean I wanna by the fg5000 but dude I got a big nose lol I don't want the bar to hit my nose every time I take a shot

joe g I parry a lot of shots with my hands and my defence is good The facebars are good but a good defence is better than any face bar I'm tall so I parry if I was shorter I would have to move my head more👊🏼👍🏼

Fit2Box long as what you say regarding the protection, protects pretty mucb all of the face, ears and nose (especially the nose, dont want it flat or out of position), started muay thai about a month ago and my trainer wants me to spar in time, just want the best protection of coarse :)

kez Yay Great protection Make sure you get correct size and it is secure If it is loose you don't want the bar hitting your nose I love mine use it all the time👊🏼👍🏼

Fit2Box Awesome ! 😁 Im asking cause i obviously dont know, how do you know what size to get, can i just try normal headgear at my gym and if it fits well go by that? And for the nose bar is it easy to adjust incase its to close to my nose?

i bought the large headgear 5000, i love it. i measured my head and it was 23 inches, so i bought the large. i have big nose, do you think the extra large would be better or should i stick with the large.

Ali Ali have you squeezed the sides whilst you have it on To give you more room for your nose The bar is designed to be manipulated in this way

Ali Ali maybe a LL headguard May be better then I try to block/parry shots with my hands I try not to take too many clean shots as I see the headguard as a last resort not as part of my defence as some people do👊🏼👍🏼
