A tip my trainer gave me is not to put in power on the first jab, then put power in the second jab. That way you have a controled Motion on the first while creating an opening then powering up on the second
Yes, even if you first jab is not powerful, it's difficult for your opponent to counter between those 2 jabs because of the quickness of those lil' combinations
Yes, but it is even sweeter. After "wiring" your feets (skipping rope, horse stance, magnifying drills etc.) you can add micro hip turns invard which add structure, power and elusivness (straightness)- jab can be actually powerful effortless punch ;-).
@@Jonathan-ek7ky hope this will give you an idea : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qLaHYTlT3cc.html Actually angles in knees and butt position are wrong there. Ok, this one is better and connection to jabbing is more clear but again it is not 100%. It is sort of a magnifying lens to practice and than should be followed with other versions up to tight crisp technique triggered as response or proactively and under pressure. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T-m7-ikRIYI.html
Oh and btw I had a dream of you last night because I fell asleep with your video on and we were light sparring like how you describe in your videos...sounds gay I know but it is what it is.
I like throwing the double jab on the double end bag. It helps popping back the 1st jab, gives you the feel and speed of doing it right, and the mechanic and muscle memory when not on the d/e bag.
"You gotta to make sure you turn it over each time"... "otherwise you don't get that shoulder snap." OK. Now it make sense to me. I can feel it now. Thank you.
Love this , 2 minute video, check yourself, go practice what coach says. Tired of other channels who wax philosophy of fighting, get to it. U da best , coach..

I have improved my technique a lot thanks to coach Anthony's videos. Not pro or anything, I just do it because I like it, it's been a hobby for the last 7 years. Thanks man. 🥊🥊
half way the same idea as 132, jab then change hand position to a hook then punch it which stops in the same place, in the middle to double jab or shift to a hook punch, yes very good i have to keep in my mind, in my country they train like stupid, there mind busy far away but me in the same time training online also, my Romanian coach i went to find a coach he wasn't coaching at all, i went myself to search for a guy to train me but not any guy, coach anthony you make me happy man i find everything i need here, it's in the internet but only smart guy knows it's very valuable, keep coaching and more vids i will be watching almost everyday, thank you man
Good video, Coach Clyde (Thunder Boxing) Buffalo NY. I must admit I do teach new students to bring back the second jab back to their chin. I tell them when they are more advanced then they can retract halfway on the double jab.
Loma uses the “russian side step” which we would usally call a shuffle step. Because he is southpaw he can use that step to move to his right aka his opponents left. You can do that shuffle from ortho but it goes towards the opponents right and doesnt create the same kind of angle.
One thing lomachenko uses for angles is shifting. He also uses a shifting side step that you see Tyson using where he bobs to one side and appears on your shoulder. By the time you realize it it's too late and he hits you with a straight right a hook or an uppercut. He has a video showing students how he does it. RU-vid lomachenko teaches students or something like that. The student has a tat on his back
I notice he tends to do it when opponent crouches down so it is harder for them to back up and circle away. He sometimes pushes down on their shoulder as they are crouching.
Coach Antony: Thank you for many good videos :) Here you are actually doing what you say that you should not do. if you play youre demo of the jab in slow motion, you will see that you are pulling both jabs all the way back to youre chin.. just an observation.. ;) Stay coaching :)
Thank you for this instruction..I'm trying to work on a double jab that when thrown it sounds like one. Any tips on this?..I know it comes down to technique and speed with this goal.
Man, I was told not to turn the hand over too much. Is there any pro to not turning it over so much? I'm gonna learn it your way for sure, but wonder why another guy said not to turn it over too much?
I don't do my double kablikevtgar I believe that it's about how fast you can throw the first jab and bring it back to throw the nest one the Kab is a straight punch it's about how fast you can throwit and bring it babk
one of the biggest mistake i've seen with beginners when they throw the double jab is that they rotate the hips( probably because they want more power) and because of this they end up jabing slow, very telegraphed too
Give me a break. Your recommendation for the "correct" way of doing it is aprox 5% different from doing it the so-called wrong way! What's most important in a fight is NOT if you turn the fist over or not! That is an insignificant matter compared to footwork, head movement, placement of the shot, the technique for power, breathing, and pacing/rhythm!
These 2 first mistakes are typical of lack of 'bad intentions' during the punches. It happens when a boxer wants to show off instead of making damage. Overall I always blame all those floyd's flashy style, it ruins a lot of young boxers, look at eastern boxers, they all stick to fundamentals and commitment, when westerners are worried about how good they look
Thanks!! I’ve never realized I’ve been throwing my double jab incorrectly till seeing this video never really thought about to much then when I tried your technique today at the gym noticed the difference!
First off, I'm southpaw, so the following issue is probably due to this but do you have to turn the hand over? When I spar and throw that jab, my orthodox opponent-they're always orthodox :)-sees my elbow flick out as I turn my knuckles and I don't land it. I have far better results with less turning or no turning at all. Throwing the jab straight out, concentrating on landing the top 2 knuckles with little lateral elbow movement, works best for me. Otherwise I'm in a game of chess to get position.
Try turning your hand over at the very last second, so that you aren't telegraphing it to your orthodox opponent but you still get that "shoulder pop" ~ fellow southpaw
Being doing the second method and trying to figure out why I have no speed on my jab. This helped correct that already. Will try it in the gym this week. Thank you.
Shane Mosley used to do multiple jabs not bringing his hand back hardly at all and it made the jabs powerless when he'd do that. I think he developed the bad habit using the double end bag since it will fly back long as you hit it square but doesn't weigh nearly as much as a head so doesn't require power like hitting a person.
