Boxy Boo is the Terrifying New Playtime Monster || Project: Playtime - Trailer (Reaction & Analysis) 

The scariest part about the box to me is that if you look inside it’s mouth, it goes somewhere. It leads someplace, but on the outside it’s merely a box of fur on a spring.

I feel like Poppy Playtime works far better as a more mature horror game then as the child-friendly horror game people have been painting it as

A small detail I noticed during the trailer is that when they're backing away from Huggy together, you can see the red player actually roll their ankle by tripping on the broken apart Bron's neck. And do you know who got grabbed by Huggy first during the big chase? The red one! They were lagging behind because they rolled their ankle!

This is what I want from poppy playtime, genuine horror and not just some “horror game” marketed at kids

I think Boxy Boo is a good candidate for the monster for chapter 3, could be something else but a good candidate

One thing to note, the suits that the people were wearing in the first trailer look like the models in the animated instruction tapes found in the main game.

I have a feeling those mini huggy wuggies are more alarms than something that will attack. Got to be careful around them or they will alert nearby creatures or enemies. But that's just my guess. Awesome review.

I seem to have a theory that this happens in the past, before or after the Prototype broke out, because 1. Mommy still has her limbs and Huggy seems to be in mint condition, and 2. There seems to be more than one person who know what they're doing. But that's a theory. Stay fresh, and Happy Thanksgiving!

They really know how to make horrifying monsters. I do hope that references to this appear in Chapter 3. I wonder if this takes place before Poppy Playtime? If it has no connection that's okay because it does look exciting.

One thing I like about the monster perspective is that it just reminds me a little bit of L4D2. It might not've been the purpose but it was fun to see nonetheless.

Honestly as long as upgrades are tied to in game currency (that you can’t buy only earn, like blood points in DBD) then I think this is gonna be really fun! I have a huge love for these kinds of group to one gaming style. Hopefully they just do the upgrades right and don’t make it pay to win, that’s my only worry but they have templates like DBD to look at for a good set up so I do have faith!

This trailer is more like a movie than a trailer The animation is super cool just like a horror movie trailer And the in game trailer looks exciting

This game looks very good! As someone who really likes dead by daylight, I feel like I'm going to love this! Also that part in the gameplay trailer where Mommy Long Legs was hiding in the ceiling and jumped down looked really cool, a mechanic where you hide in the ceiling and drop down seems awesome! And also that Huggy Wuggy costume for the survivors looks so smooth I need that lmao

As someone who loves trains, I like that the new version of the playtime Xpress is far more realistic. It actually has working side rods that look like something you’d see in a real locomotive, not to mention it actually is a tender now.

I think boxy boo will be the antagonist for chapter three because it has the other antagonists in this game so it would make sense ( in my opinion I think they will keep adding new monsters to the game when they release new chapters )

It seems we can also dodge and roll In the third person scene for the gameplay trailer one of the survivors on the right does a roll which seems like it can be used to dodge attacks, avoid getting grabbed (if grabbing is a Toy Ability) and to get under a door just about to close on the Toy’s Face 4:13 timestamp here 4:31 here too

I like the idea of expanding the Poppy Playtime world with this 6v1 PvP title. Seems like a great way to expand on the idea of "What happened after everything went wrong" while making it seem as though the idea that the higher ups still want our "survivors" to be making toys while there are these monsters running around as if to try and play off the legit threat. Going to hope this doesn't fall victim to the MTs. Not just the idea of "Pay to Win" but some games can be rather WTF with how they set their prices for cosmetics. If it's fair, people will buy them. If they aren't fair, then it becomes another chapter in a long running story of people who hate Microtransactions and the current state of games. The game is F2P after all, but hopefully they will find a way to work around the bad mojo that comes with this. ... Then again, there are still people who are still upset that they tried to Fungible the series, so guess we'll see how this works out.

Seeing new content for Poppy Playtime makes everyone not want to wait to what the next chapter has in store for us.

Personally, A way I would find bugs for a game is to ask the player, before the game starts, if their experience can be recorded for the bugs to be found after a report is made, find how to repeat it, and figure out what is causing it, (if your reading this and making a game try it and tell me if it worked)

A multi player poppy playtime game is an amazing concept and I think that this game is going to do great

This reminds me almost exactly of Resident Evil Resistance: a team of Survivors filling a variety of roles with perks; a single interchangeable monster attempting to hunt them down; a large map with collectible parts scattered around; even the free-to-play model seems to function exactly like the perks and cosmetics did in that game. Hopefully the devs can learn from RE's mistakes and put out a product that will be able to retain players and stand the test of time.

If they had a toy train that looks like the one in the gameplay trailer for sale, I would buy it. They did a real good job animating it. The driving wheels move just like how they would on a real steam locomotive.

Edit: Also, considering what we see on the page for Project Playtime (It's the whole "Can you hear us? Can you see this? Give us a sign." thing), something tells me that the ARG isn't quite over.

Little theory i just thought up while watching the trailer; i think the playable characters might be somewhat connected to the gas mask in the chapter 3 teaser since they look like hazmat suits

I've got a mini theory that if the free to play game is canon or semi-canon, there might or were at some point remaining workers sent to retrieve giant toys from the lockdown areas to maybe set up a defensive perimeter with these toys as guardians, maybe using willing participants witch might make the toys more docile towards humans or exoskeletons to bring the toys to life. We might even see them used like big dadys from bioshock protecting kids seeing as most of the monsters seem to hunt for food or for enjoyment.

I do hope that the middle finger taunt will still appear in this game.

Maybe the mini huggies will be a similar mechanic to the birds in DBD or in someway similar but not fully the same? That was my thought process because Huggy pretty much showed up after the Mini Huggy made noise

I’ve been having this idea run through my head for awhile now. What if they created a toy for this game that was based around two creatures. Little Lamb Father Ram Little Lamb’s toy was a tiny mix between a animatronic and a plushie. Trying to target that tween demographic with the new fancy electronics. As for her monster self she’s extremely fast but can’t kill easily and can’t stay away from Father Ram for too long. Father Ram is a larger creature and was meant to be the boy version of the toy. He’s a Dad to Little Lamb and is supposed to be wise and strong. The monster version of him is actually barely holding onto life. And is being used like a walking capsule for Little Lamb. He’s slow moving but can kill quickly if he lands hits. And when Little Lamb isn’t in him he ceases to move, becoming a husk that players can easily walk by.

Considering that there are 4 people in this trailer, they are probably going to be adding the multiplayer mode that was originally thought to be discarded. In that mode you have four people, as well as a monster chasing you, Huggy or Mommy. I also think that this trailer is showing us the new monster for chapter 3.

STUFF I ANALYZED FROM THE TRAILER: Huggy’s abilities. He has 3, a hug symbol…probably related to the grab huggy performed on the red guy. Huggy’s face…probably related to the small Huggy at the beginning. Huggy will probably be able to release small huggys that will do damage to you. Player’s health. They have 3 hearts. Mini Huggys will probably do one heart worth of damage. Footsteps. The hunters can see the player’s footsteps. Mommy can stick to the ceiling. Thats really it. Oh, and customizable avatar and grabpack
