So we have a normal amount of Boxycharms to unbox today for a change lol. I do want to let you guys know in my “rant” at the end that I am totally not upset about potentially being kicked off the PR list, I thought it was coming for a long time honestly and I feel lucky to have ever received any at all! I just really wanted to have the freedom to say what I was really feeling about my Boxycharm and I felt that would be restricted if I agreed to all of the requirements. I do what to clarify that these requirements started a long time ago and I have been ignoring the emails ever since the first one so it is not a new thing and I have been waiting for the day that the PR stopped coming! I would have given an honest review regardless of if I had agreed to the requirements or it had been sponsored but I liked having the freedom to approach my unboxing as I wanted too! I hope you guys understand and are okay with not doing Boxycharm PR related videos anymore (We will still do the unboxings of the boxes I purchase myself just no more "PR vs Paid for" type videos)! The balls of them to say "this is the makeup look you have to do" when they barely have makeup in their boxes now is crazy to me

The PR requirements thing feels like something a company would do if they were having financial issues: they basically get a "sponsored" video for waaay cheaper. It seems so cheap and sketchy.

I'm so glad you are staying true to you! Right after Ipsy bought BoxyCharm, I was getting bad vibes from my BoxyCharm contact person at BoxyCharm and I asked to be removed from PR. I was recently kicked off of Ipsy PR. I don't do unboxings like you do, but I was mentioning products that I got in Ipsy in other videos like, "I've been using this lip gloss that I got from Ipsy..." They said they might put me back on, but I don't expect it. Like you said, it is a privilege to be on PR and it was nice while it lasted, but I felt the same way you did. You are a true gem and that's why you are so loved here on RU-vid! BoxyCharm is really losing out by losing you.

I've watched enough videos where creators explain how PR vs. sponsorship works to know that that requirement posed by BoxyCharm is WAY out of line. I guess they can do what they want, but it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Keep up the great work! ❤️

Yeah, if they want you to make a sponsorship type video, but not pay you for doing it, I COMPLETELY understand why you didn’t follow it, and I like that you’re honest and open about whether you like the box or not. I trust your opinion, and glad you didn’t change just for a brand. Especially a brand who wasn’t paying you

FYI that Dr. Brandt eye cream is a sample, the full size (still not a ton of product) is $82. I know this because a sample from boxy got me hooked and it is now the most expensive thing in my bathroom... Including the furnishings.

Oh, those Boxy requirements are a big yikes! It sounds like they're trying to trick creators into a sponsership without actually paying them. This also makes me super side-eye the influencers that I follow that do partnerships with Boxycharm during their unboxing videos. After all, how honest can their reviews actually be with all of those requirements?

I'm on the list and I know they sent out a mass email to creators asking them to fill out the form, or that they'd be removed because they're making changes to the program. I think that could be why because they said March would be your last box if you didn't respond to the form 😊 I love your videos by the way, always so honest and entertaining, they'd be missing out taking you off no matter the reason!

I am so happy I quit boxycharm. They have lost their minds. I’m so sorry to all the influencers they have tried to control your contents of your channel. Shame on them. I don't know how that's gonna work out for Boxycharm. Because the way it sounds, every PR review will be exactly the same, unless they're personalizing every message and box being sent out in PR, everyone will receive the same products, everyone will do the same look, use the same music, it's going to look really really REALLY fake...because it is.

I cant pay that pricetag for what i was receiving.! I enjoyed boxy charm for the first 6 months but after that i just wasnt impressed after the price tag went up. Love seeing Wren in the videos such a cutie! ❤❤

Georgette is the name of my phone ghost. After turning off autocorrect I continued to get some interesting and very not right substitutions still. So my phone is haunted and the name popped up during a digital "seance" where I just went at my phone's keyboard to see what would happen. Kind of like a keyboard ouija board situation all in good fun. I was just like "Georgette she's talking about you!" I need to get out more. 😂

I heard about these changes and this other youtuber requested they remove her from the list because she was not okay with the guidelines.

I feel like we are coming to the end of Ipsy/Boxy or they are going to combine into one box or something. I stopped getting it before the price raise. I used to love getting it but it went from me getting a box with maybe one or two things I didn't love to one or two things I actually liked so I couldn't justify getting it anymore. What you described is not cool for a simple PR drop, like you said.. it's a sponsorship if they are demanding it be done a certain way on a certain day and they give you the music? What?!

I truly appreciate your honesty and that you are not going to lie about the products just because you get them in PR. If Boxycharm doesnt like that then that shows a lot about their integrity. I will always watch your videos because of this

Georgette Klinger was actually a big deal in the 70’s & 80’s, she ran salons related to skin care in NYC & LA similar to what Elizabeth Arden did with her “Red Door” salons. It’s very interesting to go back and read about our women pioneers of the industry like Georgette Klinger, Estée Lauder, Elizabeth Arden & Helena Rubinstein. They really accomplished major achievements in women running their own businesses & creating much of what we know & love today.

The Lucky Chick liquid eyeshadow is meant to be applied to the hand with the spatula, and then dabbed on with a finger. If you apply it directly to the lid with the spatula, it will not dry. I received it in my Ipsy bag last month, and a lot of people were complaining about it because they did not read the instructions.

I think Boxy and all these subcription makeup and skin care companies are like Kohl's, where their list prices are astronomical so that sales (subscriptions) seem like such a great deal. Normal people couldn't buy everything in a box without the subscription, but on the flip side, most people don't want everything in the box they receive! Also, fairly sure that Natasha Denona blush is leftover from Valentine's!

Boxycharm has been so meh for awhile now. I got it through your recommendation because you seemed to enjoy it. So I got it and I enjoy my first year, I got the Luxe, then eventually my second year came around then they raised the Luxe price...so I canceled but kept my base. They said they wouldn't raise the base box, then they did. I cancelled before it renewed, but I was getting annoyed as my boxes had been arriving later and later. My March box never shipped out and when I emailed about it, they just gave me a new shipping number. I got that box but, it has sorta turned me away from subscription boxes for now. I did enjoy it, it was fun and I got a decent sized collection now, some I have used up and need to buy, but I don't think I'd subscribe to it again unless some things change.

I used to get a lot of these boxes that you review on your channel and when I first started getting them years ago they were great, I loved it and looked forward to getting them in the mail. Then after getting them for a while, about a year, I noticed the items I received were just brands that I never heard of before, and I got the same things every month. I would get a Lip balm, mascara, and face cream/serum monthly. Also, the value was getting lower and lower, not to mention the prices for these boxes started increasing. I honestly think Ipsy and boxycharm might be owned by the same company cause sometimes the boxes were almost identical every month. I just could not keep spending the money to be disappointed every month. Also, that is pretty bad that they put so many qualifications and rules around posting videos just to get PR. I wouldn't have done any of that if I wasn't getting paid for sponsorship, that is just too much to make someone do for a free $30 box every month.

Ugh I find it so annoying that companies do that because it’s like you said you should be honest about your personal opinion of the items received. Both boxes were nice. The purple Bakuchiol - I have used Bakuchiol in serum and with excellent results on my skin. It performed like a retinol or better for me. The dry oil looks wonderful. I've missed those in body products. I like the pink liquid shadow also. Thanks for sharing.

Part of why your videos are so great is because you are honest about products. I am more likely to buy from a company that is open to honest reviews as opposed to PR reviews.

i couldn’t go pick up my boxy charm at the post office because i had covid, so the post office told me they sent it back.. and boxy charm won’t believe me because “my tracking order says delivered” even tho i never even picked it up, and told them the whole story. So i’m thinking they are lying and want to keep my money, or someone at the post office didn’t send it back but kept it for themselves 🤨😕.

I'm a nail artist and get PR, I feel the same! It's like they don't know who much work it takes, how long it takes to film then edit. Their products will get my honest opinion and they aren't going to dictate what my opinion is or the way I film. I absolutely appreciate companies that want to send me pr and want an honest opinion so they can know if they need to improve something or if they are doing a great job! You keep doing you!! That's why we watch.

Don't most creators get paid 💰for doing those type of requirements also?? I used to really want to get Boxycharm(when they contained a lot of makeup), but not anymore. I'll look into getting another subscription instead. I love that you're standing up, saying you wanted the freedom to say if you like your box or not. They're wanting to control what everyone says about it now because they know they're not putting in as good of quality brands, etc in now and they don't want bad publicity from creators.

I am a light skintone and love all blushes I use a light hand if needed if it's to dark. I also love cream blushes esp Natasha Denona cream blushes bc they blend out like a dream. I use cream blushes that do not pull up anything underneath it. Mostly matte or satin cream blushes. U just have to play around and see what ones work best for u.

That smacks of what some retailers do through Amazon. Inside the package there is a card that says if you give this product a 5 star review, email us a link to the review and we will give you a code for another free product. GIRL, I work in a PR-adjacent field - trying to control how their PR people are presenting their boxes shows a large degree of 1) paranoia and 2) that there was a revamp due to the obvious fact that their sales are TANKING. Probably because the prices are shooting up and the quality is going down. They're trying to maximize profits because shareholders are constantly begging for more. Let them learn their lesson the hard way. I'm glad that consumers aren't putting up with their constant price hikes. Hopefully they'll do another revamp where the quality of their products finally reflects the price hikes, but I'm not holding my breath.

Keep being honest about the product….if they want a scripted video they can make one themselves. How you inbox is the reason I watch!🙂

Can we also talk about how awful the boxes are becoming as well?? The products being received are unknown brands these days and not at all what could potentially be in my box. It's a shame bc I loved Box 2-3yrs ago. It was very exciting to get one. Now it's more of a let down.

That Studio Makeup HLA stuff is fabulous. I was kinda bummed when I first received it, but it is the PERFECT base for adding in all of your booster serums and it feels so neutral and perfect on the skin. I like to add in my 111 skin rose gold serum to make it more luminous. In general though its a solid product. Sorry to hear about the Boxvcharm pr list. You are my fave reviewer so it's a shame!
