A cap and ball revolver would be almost balanced. Sure, you can probably one shot anything like a human level monster, but only 6 and then you just have a funny shaped club. Thing to do would be to carry a cutlass, or hanger, and the pistol, only use the pistol when you had to.

As an American, I can confirm it is silly. One builds resistances to lower caliber bullets until they level up to higher calibers. No healing. 🙄
