Oh my god this video is perfect! I was trying to explain to my husband last night the difference between a woman dressing up for themselves and other girls vs dressing for "fishing". My theory is the more detailed and extravagant the outfit is then it's probably for themselves or for other women to enjoy the aesthetic. Tends to be clothes that are harder to get in and out of. Where for the men ususally its form fitting yes, but "softer" etc. This video helps lol
@@fizukhan2350 good lord I can assure you as a woman myself I know this wholeheartedly. These types of conversations aren't ever black and white. There's always more layers to something, especially when humans are involved. It really was just a conversation about how not everytime a woman dresses up, is she doing it to gain the attention of men. A lot of women, especially where make up is involved do it for themselves. I'm a bit confused as to why so many people see these things and think the commenter/creator of the video must think in only 2 dimensions.
I don’t understand why women don’t like the “boy pretty” side. It’s really just more light feminine makeup and it looks good on softer features. Who cares if it’s what boys like. It’s still pretty
But honestly the liftet look with the straight liner and the eyeshape i get with it… it Makes me feel both pretty and empowered somehow, whilst the male gaze side is what i do whenever I want to feel more ‘cute’ and approachable. I feel like you really captured the female and male-gaze sooso well!
As a guy i do like the boy pretty side. I feel like this boy pretty vs girl pretty thing is like the girl version of men wanting huge jacked physiques, while women want them to have more of a lean one
!!!!!! i have a tip for girls with no lashes: !!!!!!!!!!!! when curling them start at the root and hold for 3 sec then move up to middle for 3 sec then apply mascara, does an amazing job!
I’m a sucker for a good cat eye, especially for a night out or if I’m feeling a little extra vavamoomish, but I love the whimsical day makeup in the boy pretty version too.😻
I generally use more boy pretty makeup but it's just because I like more natural looking shades, with some lip gloss that makes my lips pop and sometimes some sparkle on the eyelids. But both of these look really beautiful!
Ironically as a girl who does both “boy pretty” and “girl pretty” makeup depending on how I feel, I find I actually tend to get hit on much more frequently when I do makeup similar to “girl pretty” (think the heavy siren eyeliner, dark lips ect). I think it’s actually because a lot of boys and men associate it with ‘seductress’ makeup and instantly fetishise it. I will say I do get attention from women more frequently when I do the girl pretty side. I still get compliments when I do the “boy pretty” side, but it’s more along the lines of being called cute, girly ect. Just goes to show how different looks can be perceived by different people!
😂 Same! It reminds me of our high school science teacher when I see eyebrows brushed up like that. No joke! This man's eyebrows were about half an inch in thickness and super bushy! 🤦🏼♀️😂😆 @@augustineacevedo37
I prefer a in between combo,, eyes from women with lips for men pretty. Nothing in my waterline,, i seldom contour lips as i m scared of looking sexualized & oils are hydrating. Wanted add i do attract men with minimum make up. I cry a lot regardless place i m in, pointless doing eye make up
I’m ngl I definitely do boy pretty makeup but only bc I think that’s what looks best on me 😭🤣 I actually get soooo self conscious with a lot of makeup on bc I feel like everyone is staring at me for some reason (not in a good way) 😭🤣
I love both sides but I don’t think boy pretty should have a shimmery lid, I feel like most guys think shimmer means lots of makeup and they usually say they like less makeup, even tho they don’t understand that concept.
Girl pretty for me, minus the the glitter and contour. Because it suits me. I love love makeup and especially girl pretty one but it looks so bad on my face 💔💔💔
Can someone explain me this trend/concept? I genuinely dont get it. Anyways i love soft glittery makeup. So being a girl, i prefer “boy pretty”. Is it not natural to have different preferences?
Girl Pretty looks too heavy with my features - especially the eyes. I definitely lean more Boy Pretty because it’s softer and doesn’t overpower my features.
