so cool to see respect being paid to one of the better emo bands from this period. the telecaster and clean amp tone definitely lend to a clarity convenient for learning purposes but i gotta say whatever slightly dirty, lo fi tones generated in the original recording (combined and contextualized in the whole mix) feel so integral to the sound-feel and make me ponder and value the divide between bands like this and all the “midwest emo revival” schlock being pumped out relentlessly for the past decade. in any case this rules thanks for your dedication and work.
Boy Problems were definitely part of the Midwest Emo revival, they broke up the same year Algernon Cadwallader's first album came out. Hell, Algernon started two years before they did. But I certainly agree that they're better than a lot of the latecomers to that whole style, after it had become pop-punked and trope-ified into oblivion.
