I get where your coming from with the right person wrong time situation but under some circumstances (eg mental health issues) it’s abit harder to begin a relationship or let someone in if your headspace isn’t right at that time even with someone who’s right for you and is willing to help you through it. usually you can tell whether it’s a bullshit excuse or an actual problem though. A great rule for age gaps is 1/2 your age +7. For example if you're 20 the youngest you should date is 17(20÷2=10+7=27) and the oldest 26. (20-7=13×2=26)
Right time wrong person proved right to me as me and my boyfriend of nearly two years met when we were 11, ended up liking each other since but because of the distance and age, we couldn't do anything :( so we left it, 6 years latter we got talking again and we're in a serious relationship😭😭😭❤️❤️
Honestly when you're a proper adult the age difference is not a big deal. My mum is 17 years younger than my dad, to some of my friends that's weird, but to me it's nothing since I can see how much they love each other and they're made for each other.
