Eli Morgan was surprised with a highly-trained dog that can notice and alert him when his blood sugar levels are changing, live on "GMA." READ MORE: gma.abc/2wcITRW #GMA #Dog #Diabetes #BloodSugarLevel
I would love a update on this family and their sweet dog! I love how as soon as the puppy walked out he instantly knew this was going to be his new family and was loving all on them.
Okay, I want follow up video of this beautiful little and Polar bonding and getting into stuff. They are already bonding so I know it's going to be a hoot.
Only 8-12 months? At minimum it's takes close to 2 years for a dog to be fully trained as a service dog. This pup can be seen as a service dog in training for now. I have done research of other other service dog programs/organizations and this one is very fishy. There have been numerous complaints from this company. Former clients are saying that the pups they received are either frighten, misbehave, aggressive, not well trained to be service dogs, that the company doesn't really support them (for their liability) after getting the young dog, and so many more. I have watched countless of their videos of the what kind of tasks these diabetic dogs need to do. All the videos consist of the dogs learning how to heal, sit, wait, lay, and come. Simple obedience training is what I only see in the videos and not tasks to alert. These dogs are easily distracted and the people training them give the dogs these weird hand motions compare to other organizations that consist with hand commands and voice commands they use (same basically). I am confuse as to why a trainer trains the dog with these hand commands and then the other trainer, same dog, uses different hand commands? Doesn't make sense to me. All I'm saying is that this company seems pretty fishy to me and countless former clients don't recommend them and felt they were taken advantage of, no refund of misbehave dogs, and signing a contract to not say any negatives about the company. Basically similar issues from this company, DAD'S of America. Now, this is what I've learned from former clients and the website itself. As for this boy, he seems like a nice kid and clearly needs a service dog. I just wish best for the family.
Well it might be that these dogs are with puppy raisers for the first year of their life and then brought back for training, not sure tho as I haven't done any research on them since I plan to owner train all of my service dogs. Edit: however if the dogs where placed this early that would explain the problems since dogs go through 2 fear periods the first one is when they're 8 to 12 weeks old and the second is anywhere in between 12 to 15 months of age give or take a few months, most dogs will become scared of things they've always been fine with such as loud noises, people, or other dogs. My dog is at the end of her second fear period and randomly became scared of plastic bags something she was trained to take and carry for me it took about 10 minutes for her to figure out that she actually loves bags lol.

So, couple of things if you're like me when where type 1 and 2 run on both sides of your family then you need to be careful and have conversations with your doctor/primary care. 2nd, there are actually now 3 types of diebetes not 2, the third type has to do with those living with Dementia and Alzheimer's disease, it is where the brain is not able to produce enough insulin according to or from I have been told. And lastly, this may be or seem iconic apparently insulin was discovered by doing medical testing on Dogs....who would've thought that!
I don't understand. What difference does it make if you approve of a picture of a dog? The dog is doing a job. It does not need pretty privilege. Military and police don't get to choose the best looking dog to be partnered with. Train the dog then assign it to a person in need. Who cares what the dog looks like as long as it is doing it's job!?!
