I have finally had the opportunity to film and edit my first vlog. It's something that I have wanted to do for a while now, but I have always been better behind the camera, filming weddings and commercial projects. That said, I ordered a new wireless lavalier/lapel microphone and it arrived in the post on a beautiful sunny evening, so I decided to jump in front of camera and test it out.
I ordered the microphone to capture high quality audio at weddings during speeches and the ceremony. I also purchased the mic for use in commercial projects. I often do interviews, for example with business owners who are explaining their business idea to potential customers.
The BOYA WM6 worked well even in windy conditions that would have muffled the audio if it was being recorded by either an internal or a shotgun microphone, which is my normal method of audio recording.
During editing and post production, I noticed there was a fairly low level hiss from the filming. I am not certain if this was distinguishable for the typical viewer, but as I was reviewing the audio equipment I was listening carefully for any unusual sounds or noise.
I tested the microphone some more and I adjusted the audio gain in the camera and found the new recordings had really high quality audio. I had read reviews online that BOYA WM6 was high quality and I am happy that my tests concur! I am really excited to start using the microphone for my upcoming wedding and commercial videography projects.
