Which also struck some sort of suspicion in me as well. You’re not gonna even attempt to ask? You’re not going to try to get to the root of the situation?? If this whole thing hurts him so bad, then why has he made no attempt to fix the situation at hand? None of what he is saying makes sense to me at all.

Yeah, no. he clung onto one petty out-of-character fight to steamroll this entire break up for him a 4-year long relationship GONE just like that. As if the listener didn't have enough trust issues already this really tops the cake like the entire time listener thought they were good only to find out they were in fact NOT good

SPEAK IT‼️‼️‼️‼️It’s so annoying how he scolds listener for jumping to conclusions and taking one thing and running with it, but then Alex ends up doing the exact FRICKING thing, and THAT’S what led him to believe that the break up was justified. One argument in which listener acts outside their usual temperament made him jump to the conclusion that he didn’t know them anymore. ONE. And that conclusion led to another conclusion-that being that this relationship OF F O U R Y E A R S isn’t worth saving, nor is it worth attempting save. It also feels like this man is trying to make it seem like it’s low-key our fault that they broke up in the first place-like-“your trust issues will just tear us apart” even though listener made it apparent that they were willing to change to make the relationship WORK in the first place. Not only is it selfish that he does this to make the choice easier on himself, but I also feel like it’s cruel to put all the blame on listener as to why the relationship wouldn’t work, when they were clearly ready and able to make it work. Everytime I think about this it makes me so mad, and gives me the ick about this character. Both listener and Alex have shit they need to work on. It seems like they’re making a big deal out of something that shouldn’t have been a big deal in the first damn place. And these two idiots jumping to conclusions is the reason why they are having so many problems.

I personally think that what caused the listeners trust issues to hit the surface because maybe we were holding it in and maybe we snapped? Based on the last audio we hear what listener did with Alex’s assistant and how we checked her info and stuff. Everytime Alex went out, listener was thinking alex was cheating, so each time he leaves it gets worse and worse. Listener probably saw all the signs with cheating (not talking, staying at work longer, etc etc) to where listener couldn’t hold it in anymore to where we snapped. Sorry if that’s confusing I’m bad at English💀

True, I just hope Listener can move on from this and not have a rebound if he comes back after being fired or something, they really don't need a rebound and honestly, a person that so easily flakes out of a relationship with them again. Mostly because their paths aren't aligned and won't align again because he's already shown that he values his job over the Listener and will do the same thing again in a heartbeat, so someone you can't trust really lol.

This all seemed like a selfish reason to move on and away and get it over with, it could have been done better without Alex literally shouting at us with every word he said and him accusing us of jumping to conclusions but for some reason he was doing exactly what our conclusions were but somehow scolding the listener lol, this character was one of my fav , for some reason it just isn't anymore but oh well

But if there is a next audio i hope both of them realize their mistakes , of course accusing someone of cheating isn't good but ending a whole relationship of 4 years is much too weird and childish

No, No!!! You snapped with this one!!! It felt weird this entire time! It just felt like he was making excuses to just cut us off. Like-this was the first time out of four whole years that listener has ever done this. And while I do agree, yes, it was wrong to accuse him of cheating with no proof, it was ONE TIME. Listener was willing to make a change in order to keep Alex with them for a long distance relationship. I’d imagine that they’d probably get themselves help in order to achieve the goal of long distance in the first place, and I believe that if Alex loved them as much as he says he does he’d support them in their endeavor. Like, if it really hurts him as much as it seems like it does, then he’d do EVERYTHING in his power to make the relationship work. Now, it’d be different if listener accused him multiple times, and refused to make a change, but they were willing to do so. And what’s this about “I thought I knew you”, too? Because of one argument where listener let their paranoia get the better of them you suddenly don’t know them after FOUR YEARS TOGETHER? And keep in mind, the listener is usually a calm and level headed individual-this ONE TIME they step out of their usual temperament-and suddenly you don’t know the person you’ve been dating for FOUR YEARS??? HUH???? And why is breaking up going to be your first choice as if there are not other alternatives???? Like?????? I COMPLETELY and utterly believe that he would’ve broken up with us regardless whether or not got a job opportunity in New York. He had long since checked out of that relationship, and I felt like he used this opportunity he got in NY as a crutch to break up with listener, too. And honestly? If he’s gonna break up with listener after a single argument, then I really do not think he loves them as much as he says he does…

I feel the exact same way. Reliving memories and all. Also, now that you bring up the emotional cheating, you're right. I didn't understand why his relationship with Natalie felt off to me but that sums it. He didn't make an effort to include the Listener on the day-to-day of his work and has the Listener disjointed and confused about it. Like... You knew we were studying Law, idiot, ofc we may need extra breakdowns but that's life. You make the effort to include your partner in the various areas of your life, work being a crucial one. But instead he chose the easier option, to socialise with his "pretty" (he didn't have to say she was pretty, the callousness from the jump. We wanted to know if he ever looked at her that way to take in these features of her, cuz tbh when you're invested in someone, your gaze doesn't go that far, at least for me) coworker who is well versed in his field. Also, growing distant after we begged for reassurance, trivializing the impact of being cheated on and the unwillingness to decenter himself from the issue (it becomes about HIM, how dare we NOT trust HIM). Even if you love and trust someone, reassurance about your standing in a person's life is necessary, especially when you're neglecting an individual and giving an excessive focus onto another individual. Alex is a big red flag. I'm not saying the Listener handled the situation perfectly, but Listener didn't hound Alex repeatedly. It's only one argument. Imo, I don't see how a character like the Listener acted out of character when placed in such a sad situation. Giving someone reassurance isn't always some sweet walk in the park. The Listener deserved better. I totally get the increased self-consciousness after being accused of being interested in another person but I feel like Alex missed the point of everything we were saying and couldn't understand the way the trauma affects the Listener. Yes, the Listener needs to resolve their issues and trauma but relationships also serve as a way for an individual to gain the love and support that can expedite the process. Alex has issues related to self-esteem, relationships and identity. The Listener ironically has the same issues.. They seem to weirdly parallel each other. Idk what direction this series is gonna go but altho the character boils my blood (and tbh triggers me lol), I commend Saku for invoking such strong reactions over a man who is not real T^T

am delulu too bc of what u wrote dude hjfnkdjsafnk imagine if its in stereotypical fanfiction- listener gets into a car accident just while crossing the road, hits them head first, and goes straight into a coma. alex gets a call about it. still caring for the listener, goes to their room before he leaves for the job to say goodbye and hope that they'll wake up soon- maybe months or years pass, and the listener wakes up- not remembering anything about alex and the years they spent together- but still ready to start a new life and figuring out who they are and what they want again. alex hearing that the listener woke up, went to see them only to see that they don't know him :')) honestly don't know what alex would do at that point though. depending on the amount of time that passes he could either be distraught or have acceptance that they don't know him anymore. or he may not even go to see them? idk, i don't think i can see him want to come back-- like that one last time was enough already or something?? idk brain in weird place rn
