Bro’s about to ruin a good relationship by his jumping to conclusions just like a show jumper jumps over fences. This just goes to show just how little faith he had in his girlfriend when he took that ‘was asked out on dare’ to heart and run like a thoroughbred on a racetrack with it. He might think he was hurt, but he’s blinded by his hurt to see that he’s hurting his girlfriend in return. Making her out to be this some sorta popular mean girl stereotype that she wasn’t genuine. The name calling the distrust, really. Yeah, he REALLY is being an idiot here and not believing the ONE girl that loved him. We need a part 2 to this cause the drama is ramping up to where he realizes he fucked up by acting like he’s a show jumper horse and jumping to all these irrational thoughts, loses his girlfriend because she can’t trust him NOT to flip his lid anytime someone says something negative about her to break their relationship and realizes she’s better off without a man who would trust her. It’d be different if Listener had a history of pulling shit like this for a prank, but no, this girl’s genuine in her feelings and this guy was making her out to be some siren. Ok, who told this guy that’s his girlfriend is ONLY with him due to a dare and immediately thought it was a bad reason? Seriously. This is going to be his end where he realizes that jumping to conclusions instead of taking anything negative about his girlfriend with a grain of salt. His irrational behavior is leading to a bad situation that will get him hurt but not worse then the girl he was supposed to love and then it turned like a switch and he begins emotionally abusing her and making her out to be this monster when reality she wanted an excuse. Maybe she realizes she’s not going to be happy with a guy that doesn’t trust her enough to talk to her like a grown adult, and not some immature little baby. Maybe next part is where they break up, but it’s not Speaker but Listener doing the breaking up because of his behavior towards her and how he wasn’t willing to listen to her, like at all. He thinks he was the one wronged when it’s all in his head and it’s going to end with listener just breaking up with him after berating him for his childish behavior of taking something said remotely negative without hearing her out. I don’t think this could be fixed unless he realizes not too late that Listener really DID love him and he just hurt her enough to where she’s not able to trust him anymore. I’m sorry, but he’s the one in the wrong and not knowing his girlfriend and only seeing what he wants to see. Blame her all you want, but let’s be real, he’s being an ass and the dare was only just to get her to muster up the courage to ask him out. Imagine the anxiety she had to go through just to use a dare to actually talk to her crush without thinking the worst possible outcome, and yet it did when SOMEONE didn’t mind their own business and told him that his girlfriend was just with him because of a dare, when reality it’s not that bad and it actually helped her figure out who’s going to freak out on a dime. Imagine him hearing from someone that she ‘cheated’ on him when reality she was out with a friend or her brother, he’s not going to be hearing her out anytime soon and just making her feel like she’s a horrible person. Like DAMN!!!! This guy either needs to get his act together, grow up, stop taking people’s word at face value AND trust his girlfriend more OR he could possibly lose her in the process and it actually hurt him and not unintentionally, but emotionally with the truth about his behavior being a red flag in a relationship.

What I would find as an interesting concept for this is that the listener has a crush on the speaker but is either too shy, insecure or both to ask them out. So our friends, in an effort to be wingman and give us incentive to kick our ass into gear, has us play some game, lose and then dare us as ‘punishment’ to ask the Speaker out. But of course, on the surface it looks and sounds BAD; you lost a game and as a ‘punishment’, you ask the Speaker out. And the fact you don’t disclose this yourself makes it even worse. In here, the listener makes a damn good effort to convince them otherwise but I also like to imagine the what-if where the listener just doesn’t feel like defending themselves because they are so insecure and lets the Speaker go without ever explaining themselves. Later, Speaker runs into Listener’s friends and tears a new one into them too but instead gets a response of “really? Of course they’d let you frame it like that,” and having to explain the real reason as to why they needed a dare to ask them out; not for funnies, not as a prank but because they just REALLY needed a push.
