This has Julien's thumbprint all over it. She appears to be using vocal harmonies here in the same way she uses delay and reverb with her telecaster. Quite a stunning piece.
Yeah.. I was getting so annoyed by that haha! Listening to such a masterpiece and just enjoying..then getting annoyed by people yelling! I mean hell yes - ALWAYS, WHEN THE SONG IS DONE!
Do they have original music or just do covers? They keep popping up in my recommended list and I've never listened to them other than these videos. It's the kind of music I would have enjoyed late at night back in my drinking days. I'm sober now so melancholy songs don't hold the same appeal.
They do have original music! If you search for "boygenius brooklyn steel" - that was a concert they did where they performed their original work together. There's also an NPR Tiny Desk concert featuring them.
Totally, but I probably won't be posting any more. If you want to see more performances from the night, check out the videos from Last Call with Carson Daly. I noticed the whole show was being pro filmed. I guess it was for Last Call. Check out my pinned comment above for links. I'll update as they add more.
Why do people in the audience need to "wooo" and "owwwww" during a performance like this? Probably because they can't resist making it about themselves. Please, shut up and let those of us who appreciate the singing hear it without your expressions of self-worth.
Either my hearing isn't what it used to be or they are simply bad at enunciating, I could not understand a word of this song. I'm sorry if you disagree with me, you can prove me wrong by giving me the first verse. Giving me the first line will convince me that my hearing is bad. No fair cheating, listen to them and then tell me what they said.
hmm, their enunciation sounds fine to me, but I’m not a fair judge since I already know all the words so my brain could very well just be filling them in. But I think they’re clear here
On the corner of Main Street / Just tryna keep it in line / You say you wanna move on and / You say I'm fallin' behind / Can you read my mind? / Can you read my mind?
It looks as if I cheated because if you Google the lyrics the "tryna"/"wanna"/"fallin" are exactly as I've written them. But I got that from listening and that's exactly what I heard. I was listening on a decent set of earbuds at a normal volume level. My ears are constantly ringing from 35+ years of concerts and driving convertibles, so, yeah, their enunciation is fine and your hearing ain't what it used to be.
