Everyone will remember the bro kisses (and how can you not) but I think this is the best performance of Julien's solo on RU-vid even if you factor in the screaming crowd. Nowhere in the studio recording or the other videos I've seen does she play it so well, and you can hear her guitar so clear. I really wish she put out some solo work like this - similar vocals and lyrical themes to Little Oblivions, but this time, juxtaposed with these long dreamy traveling solos for a more drawn-out kind of headbanging. Lead guitar and vocals has been done before, and it's really hard but would be so cool to hear :D I'm not very familiar with rock as a whole tbh, but this made me think of Bird of Paradise by Snowy White. Maybe not as fast would work better with Julien's style, but I have this idea of Bloodshot, except with a slowly building melody using a guitar sound similar to the one in this video, going into a faster version of this solo after the "there's no glory in love" part, and it won't get out of my brain! Edit: I just found the Brooklyn Steel performance and you do hear her solo better there than you do here - but everything else still stands
I had to slow it down cause it kept going by too fast and cause gay shit is on my screen..also need to watch it 50+ times anyway.. LUCY WITH THE TONGUE!?!?!?!??!
