I had the opportunity to follow along on a recent chukar hunt. We were hunting with Newton and his Boykin Spaniel, Gage. It's obvious that Gage loves to hunt and has a strong push to please. I can't wait to follow Newton and Gage on future hunts and watch Gage as he continues to mature.

Nice video. I miss my two Boykins everyday! The tail on both of them would continuously wag like on your dog. To me, that means they loved what they were doing!

The dog is doing very well. I would not want to hunt the guy however, he does not watch where his gun is pointing.

l had a Boykin spaniel he is out standing hunting dog i ever had but he passed away in 1989 i Miss hiim every day and every year R.I.P. MÁX and i Miss a lot

I hunted a Boykin without it even being trained and it naturally hesitated to flush and fetched the bird.

Dog is fine. Over use of commands with little effect on improving the dogs performance. Still, I enjoyed viewing the dog work.

It is obvious you love your dog very much. You pointed your gun right at the dog several times. Keep your gun pointed in a safe direction. Live and learn hope you take something from that?? Not to be a A-hole but that shows no respect for that animal especially if the gun goes off....

Boykin says I'll give you the bird when I'm done with it. If you've got a problem with that, you've bought the wrong dog. It's just the way we Boykins roll pal.

Tree Liner...Too much whistle and too many commands. Sit, stay, heel and hold before the dog has a chance to do anything. Confusing the shit outta him.
