That’s fair. To each their own tbh. I personally really like Zico’s producing style. If we’re talking brighter songs like Any Song, She’s A Baby, Summer Hate, Actually, Artist (solo) or on Cereal, My Taste, Traveler (featuring), not to mention all the really bright funky songs he produced for Block B, I’d say Zico pretty much has that in the bag. I sadly didn’t see any of that in BOYNEXTDOOR’s songs. Zico only worked on One and Only. And I don’t really enjoy the producer “Poptime”s work that much lately, especially when they’re the one with heavier hands in projects. Their work recently has just been a lot of this quite repetitive and boring pretty soulless pop rock sound. Anyways, for me the issue was that I didn’t see _enough Zico_ on the project 😂 I’m missing that self produced grit. And honestly, HYBE mixing has thrown me off for years now. KOZ didn’t seem to be affected until now but BND definitely is. The vocals feel too sterilized and clean for my personal taste. Shit. This is an entire essay I’m sorry. I still had a lot of fun writing this. 😁 I still definitely enjoy most of their songs; I won’t skip if they come up but I’m not actively going out of my way to listen to them either yk? Also, jeez like it the company stans in HYBE’s comment section are enough to give anyone brainrot. 😅 Ps. What kind of “fun” kpop songs do you like? I’ve been listening to Drowning (BOBBY), BAD BAD (Code Kunst), nach 2 jahren (siovo), Touch (NCT), NO PAIN (SILICA GEL), Tinnitus (TXT) and Middle With You (B.I) a lot lately. 🕺🕺

In terms of fun kpop songs, I usually gravitate towards innocent-sounding GFriend/Lovelyz/Apink brand of bright, so these days I listen to CSR's first EP and The Wind's debut EP. Krystal Eyes' EP is also noteworthy. And I also love new jack swing type of fun, like early Verivery and some Shinee songs.

What nonsense. The boy themselves took part in writing and composeing the songs They helped with making the music videos . And even got to took part in making their own choro. Zico said he wants his group to have the freedom to be creative.
