@@lapisincognito for me it is the same thing, that pressure of the competition, the hate. It boxes his potential. If he really wanted to be in the group, he should know that he will put Into a box. I think he's more than this competition, but he has to think outside the BOX

I think some are just not sure how it would look like if he's in the group but that's actually a poor excuse as there are literally foreign idols in some groups like Vernon (who looks very much Caucasian compared to Jay) and Huening Kai and Bahiyyih. If his voice does make a Kpop song unique, it's for a very good reason and his genre is versatile, he doesn't stick to one particular sound as he can do ballads, indie rock, r&b, pop, and he even knows how to rap.

We're approaching 5th gen and boy groups are being overshadowed by girl groups recently I think one of the main reasons is how generic boy groups sound these days. 2nd and 3rd gen boy groups did so much better compared to 4th gen and the said boy groups lack great vocals like Jungkook, D.O., or DK and I think something has to change. Some boy groups focus on dancing these days but we don't listen to their dancing. Dancing is great for performances, but vocals are an integral part of the music.

I believe the new boy groups for the 5th gen are exploring new concepts and if the final lineup of Boys Planet doesn't have Jay, they'd be competing with other boy groups who are aiming for the global stage and are preparing to be innovative for the new generation. And even during the Star Level Test, the mentors mentioned they need good singers. The industry knows this. So saying that Jay doesn't fit in the group is not it. It's like saying you're afraid of change or you just don't want him in the group because he's wasian when he literally looks more like a poc, or you simply hate him because of the rumors that have already been debunked way too long ago.

Exactly! Part of the reason NWJNS is so popular because many of their songs are not the typical KPOP songs you hear! Jay has the voice and just the color of his voice will make the group he'll be in stand out among other boygroups! I love kepler but let's face it, Kepler is not doing well because the group did not find their sound at all! We'd begged since the start that they should focus with MVSK as their concept and their sound but nope, the company do not want to listen and lost what Kepler could have been - every comeback and the song and sound they put out, the identity of the group was lost. WADADA is not their sound, MVSK was, and until now, MVSK is arguably their best song! Such disappointing decision from a company. Going back to Jay, Jay could give the group a different vibe and help steer the group to an identity and a unique sound in kpop - Hoeteak is a great vocalist but come on, he sounded like every single kpop vocalist, he sounds very generic. These companies want to go global but are so afraid to steer away from the generic.
