Hi and welcome to this little video.
As a transition between my recent films and those to come I thought I present the very attractive blue class 22 doing its thing, initially on passenger duties.
And while it runs it gives me a chance to reach out to all of you with some thoughts and news from us at Model Railways Unlimited.
Firstly a very big thank you for your brilliant support over the years, the channel does seem to be growing at last and we are very grateful for that.

Others before me have expressed their concerns about your health, so I’ll just reiterate those comments. For one moment after I saw “MRU’s future”, I thought “Mike’s not closing up shop!”😳. But no - thank God! I’m 100% beside you Mike - I enjoy your videos, they’re not overly long and tedious but are filled with the subjects all of your subscribers want to see. Otherwise your channel wouldn’t be growing. And that Dapol 22 - that characteristic sad face front gets me - my version works the local milk tanks on my layout! And thank you from sparing us the box opening tedium so common when you have reviewed a new acquisition. You are doing it right - and from one of your subscribers and supporters in the far flung parts of the world (Australia😀), keep on keeping on! Good health always!

Wow thank you. Being a bit low I did think for one misguided moment about calling it a day but the support from folk like you woke me up. I'm endlessly grateful. So glad to hear you like the way I'm doing things.

It speaks volumes on quality when someone hijacks your product. Although despicable, take it as a back-handed compliment. Railfreight sounds good to me, whatever you do, I anticipate it'll be top quality. All the best.

Love the different scenic backdrops you use. Keeps the layout fresh. Class 20 looks great. Can't wait for your future history lessons on BR freight operations. I understand it was a time of great change and figuring out how to stay competitive with HGV industry. You still have some Yanks across the pond standing with you. Glad you are healthier. Thank you kindly Bill and Janet, yes indeed it was a hard time for BR who to be fair got it right with dreadfully underhanded political sabotage favoring the roads all the time! Once they made a success of it (with our money) it was taken away and sold off to the highest bidder. Old news I guess

Thanks Mike for being so open, I really hope for a full recovery. I do enjoy your channel, clear, informed, helpful and very well filmed, your feature on the Wrenn Brighton Belle inspired me to fulfill an ambition for owning both versions. As for copywrite, well certain social media sites hold the view if you post pictures then they own them, not good, you have a right to own your stuff. As for ads on this platform, well, assuming their advertisers are paying to have ads shown, why should we have to pay not to see them?

Sorry to hear of your medical issues Mike, I’m glad that the quacks have given you the all clear now. The Railfreight series sounds very interesting and, if I may, I would like to request something about the S&T / engineering supplies trains on the Southern. What did they carry, how often, where to where and what was typically on the front? Keep up the good work, Simon
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited 6 месяцев назад
Cheers Simon most kind. Hmm I'll have to think about that, I spent many hours pushing cable laying trains from Clapham to Waterloo for the Mercury network back in the day, S&T honestly we did not get told that much, we'd just drop them off and they'd unload what the wanted while we stayed on the loco.

hello Mike'great video. the 22 looks a great model. more reliable than the the real one built by the clowns at NBL [ cl 15 and 16 incuded ]. i remember these on the western region in 1969 when i worked for AEC ltd, the main line ran past our place so could view from the main drive,best locos to watch were the Westerns, just brilliant !, now there is rubbish on the main line.

Excellent news! I am relieved to hear you are on the mend! Future videos all sound good and I am partial to a hydraulic, although I must choose the hymek personally. The Heljan model is hefty and pulls about anything. Pity Lima never had a go at one thinking about it. The steam project sounds intriguing. Anyway, glad you are doing much better. That must be a huge load off mentally as much as physically.

Hi Mike. I feel a little ashamed that I've somehow missed the issue regarding your health. I had the exact same thing, with the doctors telling me the clots could've been caused either by Covid or the vaccines. My scariest moment was when the doctor said, "Take these pills & if you wake up in the morning you'll almost certainly be fine"! People stealing your work must be so depressing. I recall Chris Eden Green having similar issues, which were especially concerning for him as film making is his livelihood. Your future plans sound exciting. I'm especially looking forward to seeing your Lima diesel collection in action. Gotta say, thought: even though I'm a GWR man, class 22s are ugly spuds... All the best to you, Stephen

@ModelRailwaysUnlimited Thanks for replying so quickly. I'm on edoxaban, which I think is a similar medication. Far less problematic than Warferin. It took a while (6 plus months) for everything to settle down, but now I'm all OK, taking 1 pill per day for life, as the doctors cannot say for sure what caused the problem. To be frank, I'm OK with that, apart from the increase in my holiday insurance premium! Stay safe, sir. And look after yourself.

Sam's trains always seems to get faulty models! For a genuine review, Jenny Kirk is a better option. Look in at Jenny Kirk's Monday club, as well - 7 - 9 UK time every monday, and reveiws as and when - usually mid-week. - - - - People pirating your vid's, and then getting monetised for it should be blocked from You-tube. As 'hotdog' put - look on it as a backward complement. - - - Sorry to hear that your ailment turned out to be pulmonary clots. You are lucky to still be here. I lost my wife to that, as a back-lash to lung cancer. The resulting combination was too much.
