I'm glad you've got some old ayrshire footage. The memories are flooding back from chasing trains around here with my dad when I was a kid in the 80s. Brilliant. Ayr depot then up the killoch line was our usual Saturday morning.
Ahh, Tractors at full bore . Great vid as usual , I just love a fast freight routed through a platform under green signals and especially with a blast from the horns ."Coming through ,Make way ".
Again superb . These 37s used to rumble through Paisley Gilmour St at speed . The whole station shook. Difficult to believe the 318s were on;y about 4 years old then .
My old hometown. I noted the coal yard behind the then platform 1 had gone, the signal box at the end of the then platform 4 east end was gone. And the old footbridges had been replaced. The old Winton arms hotel was very much still there westbound and looks like it's sat on top of the bridge. It was a great place growing up there, 37's and 20's were regular and you had 25's 26's and 47's too. More freight in the 70's and 80's too with the ici factory at nearby Ardeer. Time machine please! I want to go back!
When you acquire that time machine Derek, do tell me so I too can go back to those exciting times. Meanwhile this is the best we have and Many thanks for your interest....Best wishes....Mark
