I just used this method to wire some z bars. It worked fantastic! In the past I have always used a string with a small nut tied on the end but after trying this chain method on my last wiring job I could now see how much better this was.
That’s the easiest part to do. I thought you were going to actually show us how quickly you could bring the wires through, because that’s where the problem is. I don’t see you use in a chain to get both your harness for your switches and your throttle fly by wire.
Aaron meyers You have to remove the two small connectors that are about 10” from the throttle grip. I soldered 2” wire in place of the 6 pin and two pin connectors there. The large connector at the harness end must be disassembled, then it all pulls thru fairly easy.
Using a Electric Guitar string works, just feed it thru also the good old string and a air compressor works also just feed the string in, then blow air thru the bar with the compressor the string will pop outta the bottom hole like magic. I've used all three methods many times at the shop. Good video, short sweet and too the point
Use a dipstick. The checkered end has two holes. And the top end has a variety of Loops or t handles. Transmission dipsticks work even better. Dpnt use w d . 40. Sil glide works best. Napa has it
Yeah some people just dont have common know how like others..ive wired 3 sets of ape hangers and used a similar chain like yours with a necklace clasp on end..takes no more than 45 minutes to get all wiring through..and thats with a 5 yr. Old next to me asking 100000000000000 questions!
In trying that now withthe same type of bars and wheni going around the sharp corner i give it a tug and the tape just keeps letting go so how to u fix the wire to the chain? Thanks
