Not taking away from the new home builds you do but this is near to my heart!! This gentleman is truly remaking an older home beautiful again...with your help!! She is going to be a gem in that community and I hope you capture it all. Love to see what color the siding will be. The steps turned out gorgeous.
Josh (the homeowner) is a good friend of mine and has been putting in a ton of work into their house! I’m excited to do the patio next! Thanks for watching!
You are related to your Dad. Great job on the steps, also narrating and explaining the process. Looking forward to your videos of your step by step development of your homestead.
Just got my cameras in today for my channel! I’ll be making videos of the property/home development as well as videos on different firearms! Thanks for watching!
I remember parking my skid and using it to brace forms. And then putting 1 more brace. And before pouring we put another brace. And while pouring I wanted a few more. People don't realize the sheer amount of weight of concrete. Great looking set of steps guys and awesome video!
Great Video Steve and amazing skills. We have a set of poured steps at our cottage in the Adirondacks that was constructed around 1953. Concrete was mixed by hand and shoveled in. Not a crack in it after all these years. Keep up the great videos, my wife and I really enjoy watching!
I like the your attention to detail and how well the steps turned out. I watch all of your videos. So glad that Mike Morgan from “Outdoors with the Morgan’s” introduced and promoted your channel. I learn something new about concrete work every time I watch one of your videos. Keep up the great work.
Pride in your work is key and these young men surely have that. In construction you need to strive for perfection because it will never be attained. Experienced men know what I am talking about. Great job and excellent work.
That’s a really beautiful set of steps made from concrete and each step looks as though it’s individual slabs of poured concrete but it’s not it’s just one ☝️ pour and the finished look 👀 is absolutely amazing 🤩 and I would be extremely proud if that work was to be done at my property. Keep up the excellent work guys and see you next time.
Holy shit. I have found my doppelgänger. Im a mason also been finishing and doing concrete construction for 9 years now. And my wife thought i was you on video 😂😂
Very good video Steve, well explained and demonstrated. Really impressed with the finished steps came out much better than expected, look forward to seeing the completed project
Looks great! Are you not concerned about having no steel under all 5 tread/risers? I'd be worried about the first 3 treads/risers cracking being the thinner parts of the pour. Didn't see any fibremesh, maybe there was? Cheers from Canada!😁🇨🇦🔨
I just had a similar set of steps poured. My contractor built the inner structure out of styrofoam and wood. It greatly reduced the amount of concrete and weight. Wish I could provide pictures that I took.
Wouldn't you need a foundation to some degree to hold the weight ? If the ground sinks, the steps would be pulling on the side of the foundation no? Looks good. Also I think it would be a great idea to embed some square tub on the corners to accept a metal railing vs drilling in red heads later. Also it would give the option to easily replace the railing in the future as the bottom seem to rust out commonly.
Great looking set of steps. I have poured a few of those and after about half way full is when I start holding my breath. No matter how many of those you do it is always is in the back of your mind that it could blow out.
When you pulled the face off the steps the words, "oh wow" came right out of my mouth. I'm curious as to what kind of railings he is going to put on this? Hey, now Jim can add camera man to his resume!!
I believe the homeowner is doing a metal railing but I don’t think he has made a final decision. I’ll definitely get and overview video done when it’s all said and done 👍🏻 thanks for watching!
I’ve actually never been about a cinder block look. There are different vertical stamps you can rent from places, but the homeowner chose that. thanks for watching!
I take it, that u sprayed the color release on. Is there a such thing as liquid colored spray release? Or was it just bubble gum clear over colored concrete?
The sidewalk was going to be meeting up to it so I chip off the concrete that sticks out! We just uploaded the video of the patio and you’ll see the whole finished product 👍🏻 thanks for watching!
Because I don’t do block work hahahaha but on a more serious note, the homeowner wanted the broken stone concrete look on the whole thing. 👍🏻 thanks for watching
I just about died laughing when he spun the wheel thinking he would spray it as I spun but it only spun once or twice it basically stopped before he even touched the sprayer
