I actually like a simple thin clasp. Too many are big and chunky especially in the omega line. A watch needs to be wearable and comfortable. My captain cook beads of rice is amazing, so thin on the clasp, but then lacks micro adjust. But I generally wear most my dive watches on leather , and haven't really had any problems with my straps swimming either in the pool or sea. You might get a salt mark on the leather but a bit of cream and it's like new again. Nice to see you back guy.
Thanks again for the wonderful introduction about Uncle Seiko bracelet. I have learnt a lot about watches from your video. I have bought Seiko SSB033 because of your video. Keep up the good work! I hope 2021 will be a good year for you!
Huge #uncleseiko fan! Great designs, solid construction and thoughtful in the details. Great review - appreciate you highlighting his Omega offerings. Both are winners!
Those #UncleSeiko bracelets look like a treat, especially the Beads of Rice one! I just got into the hobby late last year, so I was hoping to expand my bracelet game with these fantastic pieces. Win or lose, your content has been a big help in getting me into watches. Thanks JustBlueFish!
I like that Uncle Seiko makes one of the few decent jubilees that fit the SARB033, but the quality is not there for the price they ask for. They ask for Strapcode money, yet the links are fit with pins, the endlinks are hollow, and the clasps are pressed. It sounds like the President bracelet you had for the SARB033 had solid endlinks, so that's ok I guess, but that doesn't matter if you get the jubilee. I was disappointed by mine, to be honest. I bought a cheap, generic jubilee for a 16610 off eBay, bent the endlinks to fit the SARB033, and it was pretty much the same quality as the Uncle Seiko bracelet I bought after, except it actually used screws for the links! Unacceptable. I appreciate Uncle Seiko for occupying the niche that they do, namely vintage styled bracelets for modern watches, but just because they're styled like a vintage bracelet doesn't mean they have to have all of the bad construction that they used to have too. If Strapcode made a jubilee for the SARB033 that wasn't so damn chunky, I'd have no reason to own this bracelet. And obviously my dislike for Uncle Seiko bracelets does not take away from your video. It was great, and I'm happy to see you making content, at least semi-regularly again.
@hey jonathan, could you please send me the link to the jubilee you bought? I agree, the uncle seiko does not seem to be worth it and hoping to get a cheaper one
Just ordered the speedmaster with the nylon bracelet .. but for those special occasions the holzer bracelet would be a nice add-on .. cheers! #UNCLESEIKO
These bracelets look amazing especially the Holzer, the one on your Moonwatch. The beads is great too but imagine if it had the Holzer-style clasp. Even better. The President transforms your watch, upscale look, dare I say classy! Again welcome back and hope things turn around for you soon. Cheers #uncleseiko
Glad to see another of your videos, and one about #UNCLESEIKO as well! Sorry to hear about the job situation, I know many in similar straights, hears to all of us making it through to bigger and better things!
#UncleSeiko FTW! I've found Uncle Seiko bracelets to the the very best, and have them on my 3 vintage & 2 modern Seiko watches! Now that I'm adding Omega's to my collection, I'm very excited to get Uncle Seiko bracelets for them as well!
Great video Guy. I've had my eye on pretty much all of Unkle's stuff for a while now. No wonder you're holding that Sarb bracelet - beauty! #uncleseiko
You have some amazing samples from #UncleSeiko! I have the "barbed wire" version from #UncleSeiko and it looks a cool today as it did when I bought it several years ago.
I have the Uncle Seiko bracelet for my Sarb 033. It's fantastic! I don’t have the other watches so no need for me to enter. But thank you for doing this. Ps: You may have done it intentionally, but I would think you woulld get a lot more clicks if you put the drawing in the thumbnail?
@@JustBlueFish he got a bargain. I'm in Ireland and in the middle of buying a house or would have snapped it up. But glad you got close to what you where asking and hope things pick up post Covid.
Nice review. While I don't have a SARB033, I do have a Seamaster, so I'm interested. I agree with your observations on hollow versus solid endlinks. Industry says solid end links are so superior, but when you compare the hassle solid endlinks sometime present, hollow endlinks are easier to manipulate. On the downside, hollow endlinks tend to scratch the backs of the lugs. So there's good and bad. Good vid. Keep at it! #uncleseiko
#UNCLESEIKO Just Purchased a Speedy and "You guessed it" Same Issue with Fit for lack of Micro Adjustments or Half Links. Too bad the Omega Expandable Clasp and End Links are no longer available. Would Definantly appreciate and Use the Bracelet, Thanks Love the Channel!
Hey man - please help. I have a Tudor BB58 Black, Speedy, Seamaster 300M Blue, and a SARB033. I can match the Tudor to 'red' outfits, so it has an occasion - but the Speedy and the SARB033 I am struggling to spot the occasion when I would wear one or the other. I know they are massively different price wise - but when do you wear your SARB and when you do wear your Speedy? It is making me contemplate selling the Speedy!
#UNCLESEIKO makes great products. I've got the razor wire for my SKX007. Nothing else like it! Thanks Guy for making more folks aware of these. Cheers!
It's here because I started up a new channel to do music gear videos. If you'd like to check that out here's the first video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ux-5-xwjZ4Y.html&ab_channel=SomethingDerivativeProductions
Well, I’d say it’s great for a few reasons. 1. Value for money. It’s $89 bucks, not $1500 +/- like a Rolex bracelet and 2.) it’s patterned after a vintage bracelet and vintage bracelets have a certain feel, so expectations have to be in line with what it is trying to be. It’s not meant to be like a modern refined high end luxury level bracelet.
@@JustBlueFish I was just about to ask the same question. Glad you got it sold. Those Uncle Seiko bracelets are great though-- I got the Beads of Rice bracelet when he first offered it.
I bought a Speedy because I was told that I just had to have one in my collection. They do look amazing and are very versatile. But on the wrist I have just not enjoyed it. After two years I decided that I need to flip it or fix it. I think the bracelet has been the biggest issue for me. I just received the Forstner flat link bracelet yesterday and think it's a step in the right direction, but maybe not the answer. I will probably pick up an Uncle Seiko bracelet next to try out. Wouldn't mind getting one for free! :-) #uncleseiko
