I think medias don't give him the attention he deserves but metal guitarist including myself bring him up a good bit. O use some of his techniques when I need to play fast actually
@@punkkyle99 i wasn't fancied on country guitar either, but one day i tried to learn the chicken pickin' double stops technique and....well...it had to happen.....
Brad, he's the SRV of Country music, wonderful singer, performer and scary, scary guitar chops. The complete, real deal package and a real nice person too.
Even if I COULD play that fast, and that clean, I'd have to stand in one spot and totally concentrate. Brad walks around like he has other things on his mind.
Never heard this guy before. I've heard of him, but never heard him as I am no country fan at all. He was profiled in Guitar World, so I figured I'd give him a listen. I am so glad I did. That was bad ass!
Yeaah !!! I expected a guitar like that! Country, blues and rock n 'roll mix The synthesis of Chet Atkins, James Burton, Jerry Reed and Eric Clapton. And a cool guy too! Thank you Brad !
@Evilucas I'm with you, I have never been a fan of country music but Paisley brought me around to it and now I listen to it more. No way to deny that Brad is a phenomenal guitarist.
GP mag-great interview! I loved that one! I think we talked about how his favorite player in high school was EVH, I think he said that in the GP interview. Nothing beats country guitar! It's got the best elements of rock, and the best elements of jazz!
WOW!!! I did not know Brad Paisley could burn on the six string like that. I''ve always respected the guy as a musician, but he pleasantly surprised me in this video. Awesome stuff!
Love it.. This ol boy can shred with the very best and outshine them whilst he's at it... Fast, accurate, great tricks and the best part it... he can do it again and again and again!! One hell of a musician...
! wow ! its incredible the way you play youre Guitar i and sing your beatiful songs i love that way congratulations from Mexico the Big City ! sorry i dont speack very well the english but i am your Fan Javier Chicanos from Mèxico.
The keen listener knew about Brad's phenomenal guitar skills a long time ago... and yes, I just used the word "keen." .. Gonna be seeing him again, this July. Can't wait!
My grandfather knew one of the guys in the recording room when they first cut this song at the end of it Brad Paisley says "I can't play that song anymore" I'm not sure if it was the first time he played it for everyone I wish I still had the recording it was on tape
Reminds me of Who bassist John Entwistle the Ox who stood pretty motionless and expressionless an entire concert while destroying everything in his path and wake. Brad Paisley has it all under the hood and somehow manages to fly under the radar. Inexplicable dude.
Brad Paisley is AMAZING! Man, if I could ever move my fingers that fast... I love Time Warp too. I think we should have mods to make sure nobody uses bad language like they do now. You can say anything you want about Brad, but, at the end of the day, he is the best guitar player EVER!!!
For all of you just wondering I got Brad Paisleys new album "This is country music" and he has a western instrumental called "Eastwood" which is probaly one of the most bad ass songs i've heard in a while. And man can he pick the guitar!!!!
tonestar100: I'd definitely have to agree with that comparison. I mean, I have heard SRV play a number of genres (blues, surf rock...probably more I can't remember) and I've heard Paisley play many genres (country, of course, blues, jazz, surf rock, Eric Johnson-style rock, bluegrass, western swing). Just imagine if SRV was still alive--him and Paisley might've done a song together! That would've been great to get to hear!
This is one of those songs that i would like to have in Guitar Hero. I think that would be awesome. It is like the Through the Fire and Flames in country.
ClintR1984: You know, around the time I first started getting into country guitar, I started to want a Tele very badly too! Do keep in mind that Paisley doesn't just use Fender Teles but also often uses Crook Custom Guitars (their Tele-style model mainly, from what I've seen). Also, he almost always has a G-bender system, which I'd love to try out! But, yeah--I'd surely love a Tele as well!
@runninwild72 If you go to Amazon, there are three books of standard music notation/tab for Brad Paisley songs. One is for the entire PLAY album and the other two have songs from different albums. The book titles Best of Brad Paisley (Recorded Versions Guitar) is the one that definitely has "The Nervous Breakdown" in it, but I'm not sure if the third book has it. I own both I mentioned specifically and they're both worth having, if you want to learn Paisley's songs and licks!
The 17 who didn't like this must not like guitar music. WOW! I've got to get some of his CD's. I knew he was good, but I had only heard his vocal songs on radio. Belongs up there with Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, etc.
@runninwild72 There's a book of tabs and standard musical notation for about 15 Paisley songs which I believe is called "The Best of Brad Paisley" and you can find it on Amazon, I believe. Also, you can probably find the tab for this one on various websites including Ultimate-Guitar.
@jjkrause84 Similar experiences on the drums. Generally this feeling of inadequacy results in repeated 4-6 hour sit down/practice sessions where I alternately count, listen, air-drum, and then individually learn the limbs. Having little experience on guitar, I can't even imagine how daunting that would be since only 1 of those methods really works. GL.
Buenos Dias! I checked out your video, and you play some fierce guitar! I subscribed to your channel, but you only have two videos -- and I haven't watched the second one yet. Play more. Post more. : ] You're right in saying that you don't play at Brad's rather breakneck speed, but your playing is impressively quick. Excellent.
Most of Brad's electric guitars (including the pink paisley) have McVay G-benders installed in them. The bender is controlled by an arm attached to the neck strap and actuated by pulling down on the neck of the guitar.
@mollers92 There's a book with the standard notation and tabs for this tune...I believe the name of that book is 'Best of Brad Paisley' and you can find it on Amazon and probably on Musician's Friend by now.
I would like to direct you to the following guitar players: Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, Jonny Hiland, Brent Mason, Merle Travis, Tony Rice, Andy Wood. And then come talk to us.
Paisly's hit his peak with the 200 m.p.h. chicken pickin'assault on an innocent guitar (i mean, c'mon ... the man simply CANNOT get any faster and more perfect than this on a guitar!)
@kiaweking Are you sure you're not thinking of the song called "Jerry's Breakdown?" I know that Reed definitely wrote that one, but Paisley definitely wrote "The Nervous Breakdown." As for imagining who Paisley was listening to while he was growing up, check out his album PLAY--he pays tribute to artists including Eric Johnson, Robben Ford and all of his country guitar heroes as well.
@huskyblues You may be able to get the tabs, but you won't be able to play this at all without a custom modified guitar. He makes use of the G bender, especially through 1:17-1:21.
@fenderbender534 You should start with his 2008 album PLAY--it's mainly instrumentals and they range in genre from Paisley's usual country stuff to rock, blues and jazz. He even did a surf rock instrumental on that album! The album also features a number of other guitarists including B.B. King, Albert Lee, Steve Wariner, James Burton, etc.
