Nice Patrol. They're great off-road vehicles and the value for money with the 3l models is fantastic. People who say they are underpowered, who really cares in low range anyway. Regarding the hand grenade issue, For the price you can rebuild the engines zd30 engine 10 times for the price of a td42 gu4 . Lol
Awesome got an 08 crd myself, draw setup is neat, his front swaybar links are fitted wrong should be at a 90° to the bar (level with ground), will be binding and limiting up travel. Put the rear back in or look at a superflex kit, front out. Needs it to make the front flex will drive way better offroad aswell.
Cheers mate, hadn't noticed that. I had the front out and the rear in but I prefer the way it handles with the front in to be honest. Might look into some quick disconnects
Pretty much a perfect combo between tourer and off-road IMO. Great work 👌 pay a bit extra and go with a Duramax/Allison conversion. Everything comes second to that!
Hi im from the philippines, planning to buy a gu same as yours, plan to have it for good..with your modifications on the engine, are these help to prolong the its life?
Im commenting in the hopes you can reply and give me your opinion. Have you bought the patrol? Im in Philippines too, im researching and trying to read a lot about y61 patrol, the zd30, because we are planning on buying one. Im debating myself because Philippines released very few patrols here, the grenade engines were not too common here and if any was caught up and got replaced with the new improved one. Also, the unit we were tryna buy is a 4x2 with everything ready set for upgrade to 4x4. Im thinking because it's a 4x2 and with the NADS we will be installing we should be able to safely daily it. It really is our dream car, so we're tryna make it work as much as possible. I hope you respond.
I gotta common rail work ute at 4 tonne all its life.. has 450 on the clock.. my td42t doesn't have that many KMs... Common rail ain't a bad engine the just do exhaust manifolds
Watch ya tyre size, insurnace wont payout either you at fault or other driver, go with the barra fg turbo sump sits back further and once its dyno you get 260 to 290 at th e rear wheels plus lighter then a LS ,more room in ya engine bay and way more reliable then a LS1
