2 years on the truck. I'll tell why I chose a Bradford Built Flatbed, how I installed it, what I like and don't like and what I would change.

Try putting a mud flap behind those tool boxes to keep the spray from the tires from penetrating those plugs in the boxes

I’ve been back and fourth back and fourth about buying vs building and I’d have to agree buying is the cheaper and easier route when you calculate time and labor and such but being a welder lol I’m just gonna end up building my own 😂

The older I get, the more I realize this applies to most things. However, you (and I being creators), can create things that are impractical to buy. You’ll be able to nail down exactly all of the features you want, even if it comes at a premium. Most people don’t have the option to build. You do, so might as well go all out!

You convinced me to get this bed. I prefer the headache rack over CM.

Had it for a few years now. Still love it and the paint is still holding up very well. Shiny and intact. I’m not gentle with it either. No complaints.

Just bought a truck with this exact bed on it. Took off those fold down sides. Never used them and they made a hell of a racket while driving down a bumpy road.

Agreed on the bedsides. Mine don’t rattle but not really sure what they’re for. I might take them off too but would need to weld on some new anchor points as mine have 2 on each of the sides. What did you do about the tie down points?
@swashington942
@swashington942 2 года назад
@@cowboyV2 Well they are under the folding sides when folded down. There’s a notch cut out where the 2x4 holes are.

@@cowboyV2 Wait you’re using them in the video. Isn’t that what you’re talking about?

Was using a combination in the video. One was hooked over the bed side into the wheel-well. One hooked in the flip out d-ring located on the inside face of the driver side flip-down bed side. Both passenger side hooks were hooked into the stake-pocket holes that are located under the flip-down bed side. I might make some stake-pocket mounted flip-up d-rings, now that I think of it.

If there are plugs in the bottom of the boxes, try removing one or two. I've got a Hillsboro with similar boxes. One was always dry, one was always wet. I finally figured out one day that on the box that was always wet, the drain holes were completely covered with paint and never allowed drainage or ventilation. I cleaned out the paint and now I've got two dry boxes.

I have the exact same truck and bed.. I havent finished the video before leaving this comment so im not sure if you meantion this.. But i really hate how high the reciever hitch is now... To the bottom of the sqaure tubing that is the reciever hitch is 27 inch off the ground on my f350.. So i am forced to either buy or build a drop hitch... Other than that i love the bed.

Mine is perfect and pretty sure not that high. Truck is stock, not lifted nor larger tires. I love how it would look on a 4 inch lift and some larger tires but in the mountains with all the twisty roads, it’s really rough on the steering gear and ball joints. Is your truck stock height?

Nope, way up north in Newman. Cool guy but super busy these days. Tried to get him to do some other work recently, said he's all booked up for next few months.
