Thank you John, you’ve been my surrogate father for 30 years now. I still turn to you for wisdom and help for challenges in my life. You may have left, but your spirit and message live on. Rest In Peace.

Mr.Bradshaw started his real inner work in his 40s It means that It's never too late to begin the inner work. I just turned 25 and I've been actively working on myself for about 2 years It remains to be seen where I will get later in life if I get there.

Awesome to hear, I’m at 38 and still going. It never stops till we transition in life.

In a way we never get there but we are also always already there. Crazy world. Its ok to be fucked up. The beauty is in accepting ourselves and forgiving ourselves being fucked up. I'm 70 and been working within that box of personal development for decades. Its all ok. You are learning and you'll use all you've learned. your struggle is also your gift. Best wishes.

Well done on starting so early! I’m 48 and only just realising how much this shame stuff has impacted my life now. Two divorces later I’m beginning to understand why things haven’t been working for me. Ignoring these things and hoping they go away by themselves doesn’t work - or at least it didn’t for me.
@realisticthinking3490
@realisticthinking3490 Год назад
@@alisonbrockbank6677 thank you. It's hard to assess where you are at once you take upon yourself the challenge of being aware and improve. And also, habits are really hard to break. 1st thing is accepting imperfection and that it's fine to screw things up once in a while. Facing 2 divorces is no joke

RIP Mr. Bradshaw began his series on the family in the early 1980's. At that time in my life, I was lost, confused, much younger, and drank a little too much, trying to cope with my abusive childhood. I just happened to catch John Bradshaw's new series on The Family and watched it and realized, there was healing for my mind and soul, so, I continued with that series and his 2nd series on Homecoming, and moved on to his third series. Since that time, my life has changed dramatically and the old self has died and I have been reborn, thanks to Mr. Bradshaw's time, energy, wisdom and excellent ability to connect and teach at a level that is understandable and cohesive. I will always be in his debt. Thank you Mr. Bradshaw for contributing to my new life and a life without dysfunction...

He was a sincere and wise person that struggled in life to make better sense of emotional humans, his work was courage filled. His life, made my own and my families lives richer, easier and more balanced had we not put his teachings into action and....have for 20+ years and counting. He, is, was and will always be courageous to me and I hold his name in high regard.

I first found him on a Public Broadcast channels in about 1984... I was about 13 yrs old and very intrigued about the information. At the age of about 5 yrs old I was already studying Human Behavior. But I wasn't aware what I was doing. But over the past 45 yrs I have been studying patterns in people everyday. Most people have no idea how much I am analyzing them. I do ask "test" questions that I already know the answer to just too verify their perspective.

This man is a legend who changed many lives.....way back before we had the internet. I walked thru the living room one night, the tV was on, it was about 1990, he was talking and I remember him discussing the roles we take in the family. I had no idea who he was, but I was hooked and watched every one of his shows, saw him in person about 20 years ago in a brilliant talk. His wisdom about the family, shame and addiction changed the world.

If a priest is "a giver of sacred things", then indeed John Bradshaw was a priest all the way through his life, sharing life-giving teachings, insights, and truths from his own lived experiences and extensive academic studies. It is beautiful to see so much joy in his face in this interview, especially compared to the film footage of his earlier work on television, when so much inner pain shows through in his countenance. His willingness to own his own shadow side is what I appreciate most about him; he was truly a demonstration of the 'healthy shame' he championed. He did his own inner work and this is what gave resonance to his teachings for so many. Thank you John Bradshaw for supporting your magical 'wonder child' to share your unique gifts with the world!

I didnt know he died... Pretty sad. I dont know if that is appropriate, but I think giving his age he propably shouldnt had another kid.

Was the little girl adopted? She looks kind of mixed. Even if she was, a young child costs more energy, especially when you are older. I just found out the other day on Facebook that he died. Over the last years I bought his books which helped me.

Healing the shame that binds was the first book I read following my awakening ( breakdown). It taught me so much. Went on a half day workshop in London with John in 1990s and I wailed like a baby ( lost child) . I shook his hand and thanked him. Now again I am returning to his work as more healing is required. A special Wizard.

Back in the late 80's I was saving for a Harley Davidson and was doing this therapy with someone(Cecily) I had been given the opportunity by someone else to buy the full set of vcr of this homecoming and decided to spend all the $350 I had saved on them.....I sure am greatful to that guy for selling them to me. He rolled up on a Harley and I said this is my Harley money right here I'll start again I said. He gave them to me for $250 instead. I sure was greatful for those tapes, all 10 of em.
