The judge and bragg will never live a normal life or private life again they will always have to have protection,no privacy! The activity in question that is being called a crime is a misdemeanor under New York law and the statute of limitations had already expired before the case was brought to court. Federal agencies turned down pursuing it because per the actual law there is no case.
If the judge were to sentence him, he'd have to use former models, which are all Misdemeanors, which puts it in a District Court, making tholis a Mistrial, it exceeds Statute of Limitations, which is Grounds of Dismissal...

Bragg's filing shows that he views judge Mechant as part of the prosecution team. That is why he (bragg) is allowing him (judge m) to make the final decision. If the judge makes that final decision, wouldn't that be judicial misconduct?

I hope NYC voters vote out Bragg. He has wasted a fortune in taxpayer funds while neglecting crime. Bragg will probably make a fortune writing a book about this kangaroo court, making himself look good. There should be legal sanctions for prosecutors who waste taxpayer funds on cases likely to be overturned on appeal. Of course, every judge and prosecutor sees cases overturned occasionally, but this case was demonstrably weak since the FEC never took it up.

The State Bar should discipline Bragg for giving a political donation against the rules and for voicing bias prior to the trial. If anyone should have been gagged, it should have been his daughter who was gagged from repeating anything her dad said about Trump since it poisons everything. He should have had his law license suspended for campaigning on convicting Trump and not recusing himself. There is absolutely no way a prominent Republican could get a fair trial in NYC! If the case was brought a all, it should have been done in a swing district. However, I think the case is bogus. I think such NDA's should be illegal, but since they are legal, no one who enters one should be punished. Paying off someone in an NDA is an effort to avoid lawsuits, as well as an effort to save face. Thus, I think it's fair to record it as a legal expense. Nevertheless, I think the whole idea of NDA's goes completely against living in an open, democratic society. It also hurts women because knowing about alleged sexual misbehavior should be the right of any wife or potential spouse or significant other. Women employees and potential employees need to have the right to know about bad actors and how the issue was handled.
The NY Bar Association hasn't done squat, and they won't do squat because they condone this type of corruption provided it benefits their political ideology. Their silence speaks volumes. They are just as complicit as Merchan and Bragg and have proven that a legitimate fair and balanced justice system does not exist in New York. If they can manipulate the court system to do this to Trump without any repercussions, there is absolutely nothing stopping them from doing the same to any one of us.
What is funny, ( well none of this is funny) as biased as that jury was they would have gotten a conviction without any evidence that would have been on the basis of immunity. They could have left that evidence out and still gotten their fraudulent conviction. This jury was going to find him guilty before it even started.

He is not even allowed to. Judges may not second guess juries. All they can do is reverse decisions, and guilty to not guilty is the only direction that works.

Why does Judge Merchan get the "Honorable" title? There is nothing "honorable" about him whatsoever. He should be disbarred for the travesty of justice, as should all the other judges who don't rule in Trump's favor. James, Smith and Bragg not to mention the DA in Fulton Co GA should also all be disbarred.
A non violent class C felony paper error and first time offender is a probational sentence. He should be allowed to bond out but i bet the judge will deny bond.
"honorable" the only honor to even be suggested, is the brave fight of the Trump lawyers, what an excellent legal team, this judge has given up his "honor", imo.
If the prosecution caves like this and it gets thrown out, then they should be held accountable for time and money loss. As well as the judge for not stopping it.
