I agree. Striking a deal, like a favor later in the game from Scott, by removing the Colossus was probably the best move there.

right after he broke the Greaves to allow Blightsteel to be removed! 3 vs 1 is better than 2 vs 1, especially if the one has a blighsteel in play and an absurd mana advantage

Yeah, especially sad as Scott sacrificed himself for the table. He could've survived the infect if he had equipped the spear instead of destroying the artefact (11-2=9infect). Pressing F for you Scott. I'd even think that this would've bought him an extra turn of survival too, as most likely the Blightsteel Colossus would go bonk another player for sake of efficiency (not going back to Scott for just 1 more infect), maybe giving him time to overload the vandalblast to take out all the rocks. Not an easy call for sure

Okay.. I see it now. Yusri is that kind of commander that you get a game like this once in a hundred games. You may loose all other 99 of them but the one you win will keep you chasing that high every time.

No, it’s not like that. Quarter of your deck tutors for thumb or lifelink for yusri. Even pure card draw for 2-4 from commander without freespelling is quite powerful.

@@gdiridium5525 I had the same, so I started playing a bit differently. Early game go wide with ramping creatures (all ramp is creature based in my build). Mutate to make them larger threats and draw out the removal, then use your abundant mana to jam Ramos until he sticks. Seems to be alright

You should put killian, ink duelist in the ramos deck. It's human which is kinda disappointing, but it reduces mutate costs by 2 since they target a creature.

General ferrous rockirick might be a solid card to add to your ramos deck. He rewards you for doing exactly which ramos wants to do, has a low cmc, and gives you fodder to mutate onto as you keep doing ramos things. And it’s really budget friendly.

@@MTGMuddstah i see why you would, but since he can crank out multiple non humans at 3cmc i think it would at least be worth testing for sure. I run him in my ramos deck personally, but mine is cascade theme cuz i thrive in chaos.

I believe training center should have come in tapped, since he only had one opponent left, so he couldn't play the blightsteel colossus that turn. Probably wouldn't have changed the outcome though

I have krark//sakashima deck, you flip so many coins that rolling dice is just faster and easier to do. Also, always do uneven or even on dice to get that 50/50. Usually dice has little dents to mark their face sum, those little dents makes high roll faces little bit lighter making it more likely to end up ways. If you ever go play casino, they never use these kind of dice. They all are smooth and same weight on faces.

Brutal game, but I feel that if you built a deck around flipping coins, you should be bringing coins to flip during the game. I could be wrong because I don’t have data to back this, but using dice in the place of coins seems easier to get the outcome you want especially with the thumb on the battlefield. A coin is 50/50 every time, where as a six sided dice using high vs low has three different sides to hit the result you want.

Using die should be fine to use as their are three sides for each category of high vs low each with 1/6 chance. this totals to 3/6 for each or 50/50 for each category.

Doesn't that just equal to 50/50 if your choice is high/low? I play with players who even choose odd/even for coin flips. Same chances. Yes you have 3 sides to win but you also get 3 sides to lose.

Okaun and Zndrsplt go infinite with the efreet. Just an FYI. You can choose to call like 80 with the efreet to draw your whole deck or make Okaun huge.

I hope Nathan went and bought a lottery ticket shortly after that game because the RNG gods were certainly blessing him. It's unfortunate that Scott and Muddstah weren't able to really do anything that game, but sometimes the god hand, or in this case, the god rolls happen.

Nathan could've 1 shot anyone he wanted to as soon as he had Okaun and Franetic Efreet out. You just put 100 flips on the stack. He didn't use it a single time. Makes me wonder why it's even in the deck.

Andrew you might want to try Illuna, I play it fairly janky, hexproof boogles or things like scute swarm, to flip some big value cards such as zendikar resurgent, brash taunter, nezahal, or more mutate critters. Also lots ramp spells

The math on getting all 5 flips: 0.5 ^ 5 = 0.03125, or basically a 3% chance at omniscience.

Training center enters tapped, which means blightsteel wasn't hard castable, which means he could have pacified Oaken and survived an extra turn or two. Game was over turn 2 but still.

Just a friendly reminder, commander damage is only from damage dealt by combat. Not damage dealt during combat. Unless that's a house rule you guys use. Fun game though. Never thought I'd see Yusri go off on it's first combat

Didn't matter in the end, but Nathan could have won a turn or two earlier if he'd used his Access Tunnel on Okaun before going to combat and repeatedly doubling his power seeing as he was almost guaranteed to win at least a handful of flips between the Okaun trigger, the Yusri trigger, and the Krark's Thumb.

Yeah, this is why when I play in a group and one plays a Yusri deck, I always make sure to have a coin. Cause more often then not it you use dice for him, you more then likely gonna win. Like turn 2 Blightsteel? Yeah no thank you lol. Also how were the dice used? Was he calling evens or odds? Also if you guys were given a coin, why he did he continue using the dice lol

Nathan swing with an untargetable Yusri on turn 2 and get 5 lucky coinflip... If he hasn't mana crypt or mana vault in his deck but has swiftfoot boots too he had like...1 on 2.600 chance
