Bibek Debroy introduced by Pushpesh Pant
Bibek Debroy is an eminent scholar and translator who has made a number of previously difficult to access Sanskrit texts available to readers in English. Apart from his erudite and vastly prolific body of work, he is also an economist of repute and the Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. He talks about the intricate layers of wisdom and learning contained in the Puranas, with special reference to his latest rendering of the Brahma Purana in English translation.

Bibek Debroy:- is one of the leading economists of the country & the Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the PM. Debroy is one of the foremost authorities on Indology. His magnum opus is his Mahabharata Project and he has also translated the Valmiki Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita and Puranas including Brahma Purana, Markandeya Purana and Vishnu Purana among others. He was conferred with Padma Shri in 2015.
Pushpesh Pant:- is an author-translator, columnist, TV anchor and an occasional teacher. India the Cookbook, written by him, made it to the New York Times bestseller list in 2010 and has been translated into Dutch and German. His most recent book, The Indian Vegetarian was published by the Phaidon Press in 2018. He just finished a book narrating the story of Delhi through its foods.
