Enjoyed listening to this version from Clive . It's a beautiful piece , but also such a deep sadness it brings every time I hear it... Almost a maudlin feeling and longing for such memories in the past. Learning to let go is one of my greatest challenges in life , so thanks for sharing this lovely piece by Brahms. :) Lance.
Such a beautiful interpretation of this glorious work, Clive. Written towards the end of his life, I clearly hear the tender, unrequited love that Brahms apparently felt for Clara Schumann. Thank you so much!
Thanks very much, Michael. As I remember though, in his early middle age he stated clearly that he did not ever want to get married, so the relationship was quite even from than standpoint, had its ups and downs, but was essentially a long distance, very close friendship.
