Thanks to SiriusXm I have become a fan of classical music. Thanks to YT, I have become a fan of Benjamin Zander and have come to admire him. Not only for his brilliance in the classical genre, but his brilliance also as a teacher and leader. His humanity, passion for positivity, and selfless sharing of his gifts with others makes him a national treasure. Thank you Benjamin for turning an old marching band percussionist into a fan of classical music. I may not have the skill to play any other instruments, but I am practicing "one buttock" listening.
Watching Sheila Fuentes conduct is as interesting as watching a good movie. I think the music world will see more of her over the course of her career. I also liked watching Mr. Zander ghost conducting in the background. I've watched this video several times and each time it's just as interesting as the first time.
Yes, I agree with Benjamin, this young lady should be a conductor! In my humble opinion I believe she will go very far in her career! There is just something magical about her! The young lady that is directing is conveying wonderful descriptive faces as she directs. Truly living each moment with the orchestra. I realize this is not a full orchestra but in her directing she is imaging they were all there. Also, as always Benjamin Zander is helping her on the directing skills involved with her directing, of course, as always, he is giving wonderful advise on how she can make her directing even better. I like the way he always says positive things too, which I believe helps relax the student so they can concentrate on what he is saying so that when constructive criticism comes they are more relaxed about it. I guess I could use the common phrase he has a good bedside manor with them, extracting their very best.
