This video really touched me, I know i needed to hear this today. So many gems and encouraging messages here. I'll admit, I'm so tied to my hair and a huge part of me has been wanting to do a chop over a year, but I'm nervous about finding the right stylist to give me a cut I'd like and then I worry about what I'll look like with the cut and worse the growing out process. But hearing you talk about it's just hair and that no one's hair will look exactly alike really touched me, I can tell your self love and self acceptance from this video and it's very encouraging ❤

I am so glad that my video has inspired you and encouraged you on your natural hair journey. I once was where you are. You will get there. After cutting your hair a few times and playing with different styles, you’ll realize how versatile your hair is. And if you don’t love it it’s still all good, as it will grow back even better than before. Then you try again 🤗☺️

Love your braids too. Your hair looks beautiful any style you wear it in.. Also you have a wonderful personality which is why I like your videos. I swear it seem like you were talking directly to me, thats how much I could relate to this video. I felt the same exact way after I did the Big Chop. I hated how I looked. I kept thinking I look like a boy. It didn't matter how many people loved it. You have to be happy with it yourself. I'm not there yet, but getting there; slowly but surely.

Thank youuu. I feel like a lot of naturalistas feel or have felt this way, even if they don’t admit out loud. It’s literally a shock when you’re used to your hair being a certain way your whole life. But you will get there sis. Trying different accessories helped me a lot in the shorter stage. Not just the hoops. But unique necklaces and also, trying different lipstick colors- if you’re into makeup.

Has it been 8 years? I started following you when you were still relaxed. It's so funny to hear you talk because I've been following your blog forever. Your accent is sooo cute

It really doesn’t feel like 8 years right?! I always cackle when people mention my accent. I’m like what accent 🤣. Thanks for the long time support sis 🤗❤️

Braids came out bomb! Girl, a pixie is the only style I regret not having when I was relaxed. I still be tempted to do it now since my hair is already low, but I just can't ever go back to the creamy crack. But the way the fresh pixies be looking?! 🔥

Thanks so much sis. I definitely be missing my pixie. But not enough to relax. I’m gone have to make me a pixie wig and do a tutorial for y’all. It won’t be the same as that fresh cut though 😩

I'm growing my hair out (again) and this round I'm learning how to do a decent wash and go; I use your videos as a guide. This round I learned that my hair is curly. I'm in love with my curls!

ITA that hair is just hair! I have been natural for over 20 years and do the same, grow it out and chop it all off and people have a problem with me doing that except my husband who cuts it all off whenever I am ready😊 He just cut it about a month ago using the 1 guard extended. Now I never went that low before, but was adamant for him to cut it that low. Best decision I ever made, because I LOVE it!!! It’s my signature look going forth. He now cuts it every two weeks and I like how the cut frames my face.

Yassssss sis. 🙌🏾 The one time that I went super low I didn’t want to grow it back either. But then I got tired of having to cut my hair so often 😆

Hi Im loving your storytime. Im also a September baby. Lived in Ny as well and save a ton of money doing my own box braids. I had the same thyroid disease Hoshimoto, and the itching at the crown too. Wow similar walks in life. But it literally stopped after no more relaxer. You did a beautiful job on your braids.. Im so looking forward to more of your videos. Have a great week and Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks so much sis. I’ve never come across another person with Hashimotos that was able to relate to my experience. That itching in the crown was horrendous. Yasss to being able to do your own box braids. The gworls are expensive these days so yay to us ☺️

Hey Love! Thanks for sharing your big chop story. I must say I didnt expect to see your hair braided up, short hair is you all the way. However, you look really nice with braids, I like it a lot. So, now you know you gotta share some styles with us along with some more GRWM videos.

Thanks love. It’s funny because I used to love wearing protective styles. Now I always want to wear my natural hair out. Y’all will get some styles and the GRWM videos as well. But wait until you see what else I have in store ☺️

I admire you so much! I have a pixie cut and although I do relax, color rinse and wash, wrap and style it in between my appointments, the one thing I can't do is cut it. I have a clipper set and I've used it maybe twice to take down my sides, but I want to be able to do my entire head. Im just so scared I will fk it up LOL I've also been saying for years that I'm going to chop it off but the most I'll do is cut it really short.

Thanks sis. I was scared to cut my pixie myself as well. But I got comfortable with the clippers after trying a few times, and it was a wrap from there ☺️
