Idk why but I really really love your loc struggles 😢 it’s so real! It’s somewhat intimate and I love that you became more laid back because that’s the way to go!
I have mine in 1 week now. I did them myself. I'm trying to trust the process. I had grown tired of having to do hair daily even though I've always been versatile. I've never worn wigs but always my own hair or a crochet style. I'm excited to see what a month from now will look like.
I wanted to do braidlocs also but I finally was able to see an African-American female at the school here when I mentioned braidlocs she said no I said What about the two two strand twist she said no she said I would go with Sisterlocks I told her do you know how much sisterlocks cost do you have to see somebody who knows about Sisterlocks are you out your mind she said no because your hair is too thin and too fine and sisterlocks will last you a long time you have fine hair I said what about the micro locs she looked at me like she didn't know what they were I tell you the truth I really want those anyway she said if there's anything like sisterlocks yeah because your hair is too thin to have traditional Locs and that would take out your hair you need to go with the the small ones in if you like those in a small go with those I've been wanting them for the last 2 years but I've always wanted lock for the last 15 years but I never knew anything about sisterlocks or all these different other types of locks so I'm glad I did wait it but yeah I do want them cuz I've been natural 15 years and I am not about to put a relaxer in my hair or perm
Hi, I started my locs with braids and I went through the same roller coaster as you. It was frustrating. In the past I have started and taken out my locs 4 or 5times because of the frustrations that you shared in the video. It’s a process and it’s a journey! My mom started with short hair braid locs so she kept hers and it’s beautiful 🤩 and super long almost 10years now. Good luck, not easy but nothing is more precious than not do hair every morning 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾…. Cheers!
I started my locs with twists and they kept coming out so I interlocked the whole thing. Then the back where the curls are looser were a mess so I completely redid them with braids so I got all kinds of stuff going on in my head too! Yours look great so far!!
Started my locs using the interlocking method, from base to root. I have 4C hair so you know it's very messy but this is the fastest my starter locs have ever shrunk and frizzed to bud so I'm happy. The 8th gives me 1 month. Oh and this was my 7th time putting starter locs so ive tried it all except instant locing lol, hopefully I can commit this time round
@@dorathygift4146 I actually redid them so I'm 5 months in now with 222 locs XD. Wow I wuddve been a year with the old ones 😭BUT I really love these set and I'm definitely going to keep them.
You sound just like me girl. I twist and braided my starter locs. I had my locs in for about two and half months. I go back and forth if I made the right decision every day and then when I am able to wash my hair so quickly and not have to detangle I know I made the right decision lol. It took me 4 days to complete my first retwist (and I have thinner/less density hair)....so I feel your pain. Your hair is beautiful!!
Just palm roll the new growth. The locks will actually begin to mature somewhere on the middle shaft of the locs with your type of texture hair. The way your hair interacts with it self will create a unique locking pattern for your for your hair. With soft hair it's going to take at least a year for your hair to actually look like locks. So just relax and enjoy the transformation
I love them! Its a look lil sis, my hair does the same thing, I started my braidloc journey in October. I'm struggling with frizziness and my ends are loose as well because of my texture. its a journey so you will be fine in the end, keep pushing. i love it
I was rocking mini braids and decided to make them smaller and do my braid loc. So it's been under two weeks since then, I also have a few twist in my hair. My only issue is styling since I live long hair but I find that it's getting easier. Your hair is pretty and have a nice bounce! I can't wait for my length!
This was a fun video to watch. You definitely went through a lot of changes with your beautiful locs.I am a #newsubscriber with Sisterlocks and a RU-vid channel. The first time I interlocked my hair, I did not interlock them crown because it was quite a challenge. Great video🌹
Probably too much moisture is the problem for the unravelling especially with the mousse combines with water, your hair has a softer texture too... your vid is cool
Your hair is beautiful and will be even more beautiful once you’re fully loc’d. Maybe try braiding and banding on wash days and maybe at night as well. I’m 1 yr into my diy micro loc/interlock journey. And those are a few things that helped me with slippage. Happy loc’n ☺️
Soooo I was locked for 11 months. Mostly coils and a couple twist. I took them down sept 21 and now I am going to try braid locks. I “think” they won’t bunch as bad as my coils did. They were horrific. I love your loose ends. I going to try maybe dime size braids. I hope that’s not to big to interlock. Wish me luck because it’s going down. ☺️
