@@EagleAquatics Cool, i'm going to wait a few months at least and reconsider my coral stocking plan. As much as losing them sucked, I guess the silver lining is that this kind of allows me to start again.
Is that similar to a lord or colorful micro lord. I bought one but just saw a frag pic. I also bought platygyra and discovered I dont like the looks of that. Havnt recied yet. Wish I could back out I like flowing flowery looking corals or tall, spindle types, but I cant do sps. I am just wondering If I can keep the micrlord trimmed no bigger than this and place on the shelf of bridge and noton floor. I basically dont know what Iam doing and should have waited until I knew more! I just watched a bunch of youtubes n beginner corals, I also got a blasto that looks similiar, I think. Not sure if these are all encrusting and have to be placed on island. Zoas too
Zoas are the only coral that are going to encrust and spread. The brastos will colonize and stay bunched up, they like lower flow and medium light and so do the zoas. This coral in the video is a brain coral and the micro lord is in the same family but they grow more in a colony and bunch together, they don't grow fast so you don't have to trim them at all, I wouldn't anyway because they could die. Place them in the bottom in lower flow and they will do fine.
