Fun fact for those unaware, on Ashley Argota's 'Mismo' podcast Matt revealed that he was forced to lose in this episode by giving the wrong answer because they said he was too good.
That 20 point question was a trick question! One is tricked into looking at the items that he is juggling but you really are supposed to pay attention to literally EVERYTHING you see. XD
@@kendallthiede373 it was the producers. They didn’t want Matt to win a 3rd game in a row(he won Nick stars 2 back in 2009 and the first Nick stars special in 2011) so they had him lose on purpose to let someone else win for once.

@@Chris-rc6rn well, Matt revealed on Ashley Argota's Mismo podcast that he was forced to lose for once in this episode because the producers didn't want him to keep winning everytime he appears on Brainsurge.
15:59 I feel good for Ashley because this was the third knockout round I’ve seen her play in it. And the first time she played, she lost against an iCarly celebrity, even though it wasn’t Nathan. Then, she also lost to her castmate in another episode. I also feel bad for Nathan because this was also the third knockout round I’ve seen him play. He lost to two True Jackson celebrities and one celebrity from the Troop.
That’s because the producers told him to purposely throw the game because they didn’t want him to win three games in a row or twice in the same season in order to make it fair for the other contestants.
I’m kinda ambivalent about this episode. I’m glad Ashley Argota was able to finally become a Brainsurge champion after two losses but unfortunately this episode really wasn’t that good tbh. It’s a bummer that Matt Shively had to throw the game and lose level 2 on purpose because they tarnished his Brainsurge record. The level 1 statistics were mediocre. And Ashley’s trash talking when she beat Nathan kinda ruined her victory for me because it was a bit much. The only redeeming qualities of this episode were that at least Ashley did better in level 3 than Jerry Trainor and Gage Golightly and it was better than the Brainsurge episode where Gage Golightly was the Brainsurge champion. The episode where Gage Golightly was the Brainsurge champion was the worst stars of Nickelodeon Brainsurge episode ever hands down because it was bad enough that Gage Golightly failed to complete level 3 but the worst part was that her shrieking and screaming in terror whenever she made a mistake on all of the paths was downright frustrating and infuriating. 😂😂😂
