sadly, people take a long time to warm up to a new, unique sound, if at all. i hear a lot of people don't really like his voice either, maybe it's because it is messy and super voice cracky (excluding venus fly trap, he had pretty clean vocals there) but that's on purpose and it fits the sound and conveys emotion for the rest of his songs. if new listeners end up not liking his voice, however, i hope they can at least appreciate his production because holy hell is it good
The day I found him, I ended up staying up all night long listening to all of his music on repeat. He's not within any of my usual genres either. One thing that fascinates me is that I hear a ton of various influences in his music, even ones I wouldn't expect coming from someone in his genre. He definitely knows how to play his voice and colors his music with interesting textures. Really excited to see where he ends up in time
I hope Columbia lets this man fully evolve into what he has the potential to be. In hypochondriac we saw his prowess in the making of a concept album start to form. I don't believe he's fully there yet, some of the themes weren't fully fleshed out or maybe hid behind some questionable lyricism, but he's really beginning to find himself on the production side. Some tracks are definitely more unique than others, and I hope he continues to hone in on that niche. He's still VERY young, and as once he goes full art-pop once he matures this man can create an AOTY for sure. Keep doing your thing brakence 💪
I loved this you did amazing on this video I've been listening to brakence for a while now but I never would have even known any of this without this video, just subbed and I would love to see you make more content like this on different musicians/content creators in general
i would potentially argue that fact that it is his dream to flourish in the mainstream music industry, ik hes gonna get bigger but tbh i cant imagine him wanting to collab with mainstream artists
crazy what he was able to produce at 14, only 2 years into making beats apparently. that’s what i consider talent. when you’re able to make stuff that crazy so fast. like you have an actual knack for music

I originally mentioned blackbear but I deleted his part in the final cut 🤣 I like blackbear and he has some good songs but I wouldn’t consider him “massive”
@@cs_mansion5480 I do work in marketing & I have worked for musicians which is why I can see how he's not an industry plant. Why do you think that? No giant features, no viral moments, no drama fueled traffic. He's produced a couple of his old albums etc I wouldn't call him an industry plant at all. I think there's actually been little to no marketing on brakence and he'd be much bigger if he was being pushed. I'm curious to hear why you think he's an industry plant?
