It sure is. After messing with greatsword of tyr a while back, and even more so with the +1/+1 counters deck, ive been very intrigued by the concept of creatures that scale. I dont think people consider those type of effects enough. Taurean Mauler is always scary whenever it shows up. Forgotten ancient was a staple like 10 years ago. Its just strange to me that the format kind of overlooks these things now, but they are still very effective.
@@CommanderReplay agreed! I run both Taurean Mauler and Forgotten Ancient in decks and people often say, "Wow, those are old commander staples!" They can get so big and take a player out if I gain trample or evasion.
I was playing a Ninth Doctor (extra upkeeps) deck once and cloned a Magmatic Force, the Simic player tutored Craterhoof just to kill me before my next turn.
Ouch sadness. Yeah having a lot of magmatic forces is a lot of fun, but its not like it just ends the game. I think i eventually won the game where I had 6 but i got dismantled pretty hard, and didnt just focus life totals with the triggers
Thinking back I might have been combining two different games from that day. I now think the Craterhoof was actually when playing Master Multiplied and the two Magmatic Forces just got board wiped.
