I needed this exact video... while its hard to hear the true bass sound through my laptop computer, seeing your friends faces was all i needed to see... gonna buy one right now. Thanks bro.
@@13salinaspride it's perfect for inside bass. Beats hit hard and clear. I only keep it on 50% and it's enough bass to rattle the inside of your car. Not good if you want to show off to everyone outside because you can barely hear it. My car is newer with lots of sound deadening though. Either way it's well worth the price and size. My trunk still has lots of space and that was important to me.
I’m getting my whole sound system replaced except for my two tweeters with kicker stuff, bought the comp r 12 dual box, worth about $1800 in total for everything I bought and I’m gonna be completely honest this video made me 10x more excited to get it installed
Those are supposed to be down firing by the way, you might be surprised how much better they will sound if you turn that box upside down. Thanks for showing us your new setup, hope you enjoy it!
thanks for the video, but you can blow a speaker by underpowering it just as easily, if you're clipping your amp to get more volume... its better to overpower and turn down so that you always have headroom and your not taxing your amp
@@masonwilliams1810 you know… you’re actually right… but clipping does cause way more heat to be generated because there’s DC current being run through the speaker at the top and bottom of the cone motion (the clipped off sine wave)… but most woofers can handle the extra heat… tweeters are known to fail more often… if you’re running underpowered and you’re not banging away at your stereo at its limits, you should be ok… but the guys that run low power and run everything cranked to get volume are the ones damaging their equipment all around… it’s just easier to drive a Dodge Challenger R/T at 60Mph than to try to drive a moped at the same speed… 😁
Always over power and turn down the gain vs under power and boost the bass in every way you can just to have added oomph. Use subsonic filter as your sub can’t hit that low anyways. So that increases the safety of the amp.
Running 2 American bass fxls 1000rms subs on a 2400watt Pioneer amp. There lucky if there getting 800watts each lol. Underpowered won't hurt subs. Your tripping.
Also if you want to reduce trunk rattle and noise you can use Dynamat in the entire trunk i usually do that in all my cars and its a vast improvement on sound quality.
Thanks for the video! I have a GTI and much like you said is the stock system is pretty good but would like to get more bass but have limited trunk space. Do you still like it/would you do anything different?
i haven’t had any problems with it at all besides maybe some remote connectivity problems here and there. but all it takes to fix it is turning the car off and on again. other than that i haven’t regretted my investment at all. 10/10 recommend.
Just saying, it sucks to have it professionally installed because you had the install done with your previous setup. Should have been 2 wires to put into the sub.
Quick question do you have the link for the little controller knob for the gain ? Or maybe the link for the while setup that you installed on this video plz
Hey but love the video but your subs can push a lot more power and be safe , I have the same set up and I’m running a 600watt amp and have it tuned at 80hz and gain at 24.49 volts and it’s hits hard , you’re subs should have a lot more excursion Not trying to be a d bag just letting you know how my experience is with them
it gets pretty muffled and for the people in the car. However, it is much louder for others outside the car because it’s not contained in the cockpit instead it is playing out loud with no cover.
@@kevinschillerstrom1530 i faced it up strictly for the video so u could see the speaker in action. it’s a downfiring subwoofer so i usually have it facing down. there is plenty of space in the trunk for it
100% untrue that you can never blow your sub using an amp with a lower rating than the sub. Amps clipping kills subwoofers. If you're using too weak of an amp you are more likely to go into clipping trying to get the output you want.
