I finally put these on my latest truck, and this video was invaluable to the process. Thanks. I like em. I will add that removing the stock ones is not always a simple process. I did break a small piece off, but it didn’t affect the install. Yay. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
Thanks TRDJon for the video. I'll give the install a try. I noticed in your light testing your tail pipe is modded off to the right instead of straight back like OEM (I have the exact same year, color, and TRDPro). Do you have a mod video on how you did that? I'll want to do that when I put a higH clearance steel bumper down the road.
I'm not a fan that the brake light and turn signal are not on at the same time. Seems like a downgrade to me safety wise. If you have your hazards on and hit the brakes and your third brake light is covered nobody can tell your actually stopping.
These look good as well. I still have your previous style set. After the caulking repair on the one bolts washer they have been fine. If they do go as long as the back is shaped like OEM these would be a nice option.
Serious question: are people just throwing moneybat replacing fully functioning car parts or typically replacing broken parts for similar or cheaper than they could from the OEM?
I have the gen1’s and think I prefer them….they have an odd look that looks like they’d be home on a “futuristic gen1 runner”…..whatever tf that means idk 🤣
I think they look great. Don’t get the explorer reference. Haven’t liked many others, but would consider buying these, especially with a 5 yr warranty. Nice. 👍🤪🏳️🌈

love morimoto. i have their 2nd gen headlights for my tundra. but i refuse to get their taillights because they half-assed it. it's literally just a copy of the tacoma's morimoto taillights but bigger. i wish they would release a v2
Love to see the 4Runner still getting some love, and not just getting left out now that you have all these new vehicles. I have the tail as turn with the extra back up lights and they are awesome for reversing thats for sure. But I have always wanted something smoked. You’re right. The smoked looks killer. Too bad the contest is only for the USA. Those big bangers would have looked sick on my rig. 😉

Love that blue color! Taillights look very nice! Blackout on you ride looks great! Now I have to search your vids to see what rock runners you have. I just got a TRD Off Road white and I’m in the process of getting it blacked out. Black valences look difficult to do though. Thanks for sharing!
Noticed the 4Runner emblem on the rear is grey vs crome or blacked out. My 2016 TRD Pro is crome but really like the look on yours. Did it come like that or did you do?
Hi Jon! Thanks for the video. Just curious, is the light output on the stealth tail lights similar to these Morimoto’s? Mostly curious about the golden hour of the day? Love the smoked look but would like to maintain the best visibility within the smoked lights.
The reverse lights seem very dim and hard to see compared to the other lights? Almost looks like it would be a safety issue if others have a hard time seeing that the car is in reverse. Not sure if that’s how it feels in person?
