3-4 star is too much. It’s an Ace Spec that can’t be recycled. Unless it’s worth more than Prime Catcher, Neo Upper Energy, Master Ball… it doesn’t deserve the score. Also, we are entering Snorlax pseudo-meta. Picking up a Pokémon with Cyclone is more valuable than healing. If you want to heal and use PokéStop, use Scoop Up Cyclone with Cyllene (or similar) in a Xatu or Baxcalibur deck.

I really dislike the new Ace Spec ruling. The only way this can be fixed is if they make a card that can directly put these card into play.

It's just worse scoop up cyclone. Unless you don't have the ability to place the pokemon back after scooping it up.

Why wouldn't you be able to replace the card if you use Scoop Up Cyclone?? It legit takes out the Pokémon from the field of play giving you an open space for the bench

I think it’s a pretty fair card. Obviously too powerful to be a normal item card, but likely not as good as some other really powerful Ace Specs. I really like what they are doing with the Ace Specs in terms of making a bunch and really playable ones too. Way better done than they did with Radiant Pokemon (although that honestly might be just that Greninja is absurd with a great draw engine and an amazing attack for a one prizer).

Scoop up cyclone and this card serve different purposes. One puts it back in hand, while the other helps it stay out longer.it's just not a good comparison.

i really don't see Poke-Vital A being a meta card, especially with Eri in the format. your opponent can just cherry pick it out of your hand with Eri and suddenly you have no heal options. and you can't even use PokeStop to get Poke-Vital A into your hand, which is funny but also very unfortunate. i'd give it like, 2 Wossy's at best, imo

This card sucks. Just like its predecessor Gold Potion, this card will always be outclassed by Scoop-Up Cyclone.

@@literallygrass1328 the simple answer is math it's harder for 150 hp heal to be relevant when you can just pick something up with penny, turo and cyclone and heal it completely. The longer answer is viability, while putting energy back into the hand might seem bad at first glance. it can benefit you in the long term since you might put those energies on someone else or to use something like radiant greninja's ability (kinda niche but hey it is possible) not only that if your opponent gust's up something with high retreat cost you can just take it out of play which is much more useful than straight up healing. There might also be a situation where you misplayed and put 2 weak pokemon onto your bench but didn't have manaphy and now your opponent threatens to kill them with his radiant greninja (him again huh it's almost like he's a meta card) but since you have a "pick up and heal" card you can at least save one of them and they will get only one prize card for that. tldr cards that can pick up are just more valueable since they provide more possibilites while healing might not be even useful since it only helps in one or two situations.

@@goku2639So he should cry like your comment? Which is better: heal 150, or heal 200+? To delay the KO of a 2-prize Pokémon by an extra turn, or deny it outright? Or to quote Wossy later on in the video on a different Ace Spec: to heal 150, or prevent death by 150-240? We have Baxcalibur, Xatu, Quaquaval, and are getting Infernape. All attach energy from the hand. Add in Cyllene to loop Cyclone and Pal Pad, and your onslaught will be undying. Lugia decks can use Cyclone, Iono, Archeops. Even in Metang decks (aside from Dialga; they like Prime Catcher), you can play Cyclone, Iono, get a shuffle (like an Artazon for the Basic you Cycloned and Iono’d), then use Metang. Admit it. This new Ace Spec is outclassed before it’s even released.

So would the only potion style Ace Spec that would be on par with Scoop-Up Cyclone would be a potion that heals ALL damage off a Pokemon (whilst not being able to be retrieved from discard)? Or would that make that Ace Spec more powerful than Scoop-Up Cyclone?

This just gave me an idea. Since you would never play this specific ace spec over any other ace spec in a deck, what if you played a mini-format where ace specs had no ace spec rulebox? Surely, in a deck where you could play up to 4 of all ace specs, you could play a dragapult deck with 4 scoop up cyclones and 4 Pokevital A. Or a snorlax deck with 4 heros capes and 4 pokevitals. I seriously wonder how such a format would be (every single turn there'd be a prime catcher, that's how it'd be)

Well, I can definitely see why it would be broken without the catch. Imagine cycling this ace spec with cyllene? You can heal 300hp in one turn with that combo. And since there are ways to recover cyllene with palpad and then searching it with the new tatsugiri or gallade, there's very little stopping us from doing a healing stall with just those cards.

Altho the ACE SPEC is mid, the side effect is a wake up call to realized that ACE SPEC is just "once per game" thing.

ace spec's being once per game is kinda stupid since trainer recovery is already rare in this game only recently we've seen it with cards like regieleki, roseanne's back up, cyllene and junk hunt rotom. I think the ruling on prism cards was much better in terms of being one per game since you could have multiple prism cards in deck but you couldn't get them back since they went to the lost zone they also weren't that strong compared to ace spec's (at least from what i remember). I think this ruling is needed in case of something like the stadium ace spec but with this one it seems like an autokill for the card

Ace spec prints are getting a bit excessive in this era. And Pokevital spec card is not a good card to use in most standard decks except in some decks that has edge on different situations

They are just scaling up because of the new classifications. Items and tools are different cards now. Stadium and special energy can be ace specs too. We only have a small number of ace specs for each category so far. It wouldn’t make sense to have the same number of ace specs when there are completely new groups and rulings added in.

This card is awful. Absolute dog water. First of all, it can't be recycled. One use only no matter what. Then we have to consider that there is not a single healing card seeing regular play. So why would this be any different? And then you have to factor that this is your one ace spec per deck. Give me a valid reason why you are going to choose this over the FAR superior options available. Bottom tier ace spec. I really hope this "can't be returned from discard" is not something we are going to see on every ace spec going forward.
