The TV Tropes page for BNA lists a fan theory that the Nirvasyl syndrome was created artificially by Alan Sylvasta. They kind of have alan explain the build up to it. Showing flashbacks to previous scenes showing the beastmen fighting. Then explaining that all the stress that's causing the fighting will lead to the syndrome. It doesn't exactly come out of nowhere. But they could've foreshadowed it better.

I do agree with most in the video, save for the complaints about the powers. I mean, they don't give 'new' powers to Michiru: She can _shapeshift,_ which instantly justifies all the abilities she gains. (Also, she's a tanuki and Nazuna is a kitsune, which in japanese mythos are shapeshifters). Manipulating her tail, wings, massive arms, the speed of a cheetah and anything else that comes of it are all encapsulated within that single power.
@travisshute5838
@travisshute5838 4 года назад
@SunBoxesSky Alois They did, with the whole cell explanation that was to confusing for everyone to follow. But it was to late to explain imo. You do have to have prior knowledge to the Japanese culture to understand the shape-shifting completely/ right-off-the-bat.
@AmberMetallicScorpion
@AmberMetallicScorpion 4 года назад
Exactly. In fact that sort of concept is also shown amazingly in the studio ghibli movie pom poko. Also it makes sense for the 2 humans that became beastmen to have transformative abilities by being animals that according to Japanese mythos can shapeshift since they transformed into beastmen
@goldenalbatross9462
@goldenalbatross9462 4 года назад
I think it’s the way of how they got those powers is really off. Each beastman seems to only be able to transform into their respective species. When we were shown that they got blood, we only see one pouch for both Michiru and her friend. Each pouch would probably be filled from the blood of just one beastman so how can that give her the ability to have cheetah legs *and* bird wings?
@AmberMetallicScorpion
@AmberMetallicScorpion 4 года назад
@@goldenalbatross9462 good point, however we never see which type of beastman the blood comes from, and so the blood could have come from a beastman with similar abilities but was never seen in the show or the blood was being used for experiments with something like CRISPR-Cas9 and via accident had that effect on them, my final hypothesis is that it's because they were humans and the beastman blood interacted with their blood creating a new strand of D.N.A that gives them the ability to transform. In the last case this would be a case of CRISPR-CAS9 acting in a natural environment

Actually, most animes with twelve episodes (Beastars, Madoka Magica, etc. ) can usually tell their story in the limited episodes that they have. It's not about how many episodes they need, it falls into the hands of the writers to properly plan out what happens throughout the story. And unfortunately, Brand New Animal only had incompetent writers, jumping to, and dropping plot points, therefore costing them a good story

+山羊女郎 What you say is right, but it's not really contradicting what Rex said. If you want to tell a grander story with more plot points to it, naturally you need more episodes. You said it yourself, there was a lot of plot points that were dropped and that's also in part due to the limited amount of episodes. This isn't to say it wasn't the writers faults for trying to go to big instead of limiting themselves, but more so the fact that Rex is also right that if they had more episodes they could have developed the world more.

I found Michiru's sudden ability to change back into a human in episode 4 and her subsequent choice to remain in her tanuki form because 'it feels more comfortable' to be a little jarring considering that she obviously really disliked it beforehand, I felt that her main goal had been achieved too early into the story, she should have discovered her ability to change into a human further into the plot when she became more enveloped in the world in order to make choosing between the two more of a challange. As a sidenote, I also didn't really like how most beastmen stayed in their human forms for the most part? That almost rendered the whole issue of them being oppressed kind of null, because they all seem far more comfortable in their human forms anyway? I feel a better option would be to have them feel more comfortable in their animal forms like how Michiru is, and that mimicking a human apprearence would be uncomfortable/inauthentic for them, meaning that Anima City really is a safe haven where they can be themselves all the time...
@BauliusTorvoltos
@BauliusTorvoltos 3 года назад
I think that second bit comes from just the normalcy of it. If you have to put on some kind of mask for so long eventually you'll just get used to it. Hence why people are more comfortable taking on their human forms. They've had to put up with it for so long pre-animacity that it's a hard habit to break. I see michiru staying in beastform as kind of a similar thing, she got used to being in beast form despite not liking it. But that definitely could have had some explantion slapped in. Even just a throwaway explanation that it feels off or something.

I think that's the thing: it had potential to be longer (same thing I felt with Little Witch Academia). The exact same things woukd have been better if they were just expanded upon. Things like Human vs Beastmen conflict would have been better if they included more plots like the begining or the dolphin girl (and made Alan a pure human). And made Michiru's transformation a core conflict to understand and deal with. I feel this could have worked fine if everything was about Anima city alone. It had a very interesting dynamic, including the Super Angry syndrome. They could have explored the situation of many beastmen living toguether and learning to live with each other (without going super angry mode). The fact that "the strongest rule" implies that the small/weak animals don't have the nicest time (situations where in Zootopia and Beastars have already control over). I would have prefered the second option since teh baseball episode was hillarious, but it almost felt like e filler (just to stablish Michiru's ability to TF into different animals). Also also, Michiru's friend can shapeshift into a huge fox, right? So can Alan and Shiro (and possibly Michiru herself). Alan and Shiro are imortal, so does that make them immortal too? Do they have the blood of 1000 animals too? So many questions...

I didn't think the super angry sindrme was unnecesary(it was something interesting but it felt too short and pointless, which is caused becouse of it's short duration duration). If this had for example two seasons with each one having 12 episodes or similarly, it could have worked. They could have made the first one about Michiru learning about beastmen, how that world works, how everyone is treated, that the cult exists, what is beastmens religion about,etc, and let the second season be about Michiru learning that her best friend is the cult leaders tool, that Adam is a beast men and all the twists I mean, it still wouldn't have been perfect, but it would at least be a more satisfying ending

I think the whole mental beast transformation thingie really destroyed the whole Beastmen are just like and equal to humans plotpoint. Like one moment Beastmen suffer the same issues as humans and then another they’re rabid, scary monsters who could wreck havoc on the world. Like isn’t that just supporting the fact that Beastmen are indeed dangerous and much more different than humans? No it doesn’t. Part of the beastmen’s culture is being suppressed. Even if they can live in perfect peace and harmony living among humans their not allowed to transform ever. It might not be something they can do often, but of course they want the right to be able to do it. Imagine if you weren’t allowed to use your sense of sight in public. Gotta agree. The story's really muddled. The world-building is sloppy. And the message is constantly contradicting itself, while throwing random plots in that really didn't lead to anything and wasted time which should have been building up the characters and plot. And then we get the 'humans are bad and racist"... but then we find out pretty much IMMEDIATELY that a ton of the beastmen are just as awful and even sell their own kind. But then no one every learns anything from this... We also find out that when beastmen get angry, they tend to turn into savage monsters... kinda justifying the humans fearing them in the first place... and that COULD lead to an interesting 'grey area' sort of philosophy, but like so much in the show it just goes nowhere. It's just a mess. The conflict in "Beastars", on the other hand, confronts the mess of their society IMMEDIATELY and puts a TON of nuance in it.

@Kross Personally, I don't mind the plot holes / main criticisms of not presenting a theme as well as they could have but the unique concept, characters, animation, and coming of age story is enough for me. although giving it a 6 out of 10 would be a little unfair as this anime really tried to do something new and I feel that giving it a rating lower than SAO was a little harsh considering SAO just gave up after episode something (I forgot). I would give it an 8 because while it might not be super thematic and present a strong message I don't think it needs to. I do think that more episodes to flesh out the world would have been better and it isn't a 10 but a 6 considering all the effort and care that went into this seems a tad bit unfair although, let reiterate that your criticisms are not wrong. its just that I don't think it ruins the show enough to bring it down lower than SAO.

I think BNA would have been fine with more episodes because that is honestly where it lacked most. Yes, you have shows that are really good with just as few episodes. That means literally nothing because they are not the same stories and as such they don't necessarily need the same run time to work. BNA didn't work at 12 episodes. With that said, Beastars is a bad example because it's not even finished, there will be another season and possibly even more. BNA was an original, very unlikely to be getting a second season of any kind. Meaning the entire full story of the entire series was crammed into 12 episodes. Beastars wasn't.

The characters were nearly identical, smooth talking blonde "heroes" who end up being the same as the oppressed people. I think it would have been interesting if Shirou was hit by the null dart or something that involved a creative fight with Sylvasta instead of another giant laser blast off that is getting kinda old these days. The show has such well made fights, but gives the last main conflict a troupe and lack of interesting sequence. I loved the build up at the concert, especially when Michiru and Shirou were facing off with the music and crowd in the background, but all the hype leading up to everything was kindof a let down. In some ways, it would have been more of a twist and surprising if Sylvasta ended up actually being a good guy trying to atone for the difficulties his ancestors caused, just literally anything else from the recycled Promare twist.

I enjoyed your opinion and while I still loved the series, I can see what you're talking about. Honestly to me, these 12 episodes just feel like the end of act one in a much larger story, one that we may never sadly see explored. I really think this show could have benefited from being 24 episodes. It drops the fact that the Sylvasta family has essentially been manipulating humans for centuries and for all we know, might be the reason tensions between the two species got to such a boiling point. Alan's ideas were mostly expressed in the final episode in a hurry before we could learn if any of it was true or just his own warped perspective. This show likes to tear down any characters' preconceived notions of how things should be and punish them for believing in a half-truth. This happens to Shirou, Michiru, Nazuna and Alan. I like how the show doesn't necessarily call out their opinions as invalid either. Only the mayor seems to see the whole picture and is shown to be the most adaptable, realizing that both humans and beastmen must overcome these preconceived notions by learning to live together rather than walling themselves off from each other which will only cause them to fester. A season 2 could bring in more humans as supporting characters and antagonists to explore this more fully. This series was a little clumsy, but I still had fun. 7.5/10 for me which I will upgrade to an 9/10 if we get a season 2 that expands on themes. You mentioned Beastars, but to be fair, Beastars is guilty of putting things on the backburner as well such as Tem's murder.

@Alondro77
@Alondro77 4 года назад
Tem's murder was put on the backburner for a very good reason, as you'll see. It's structured very well, bringing in the dark side of the society one piece at a time. That murder was the opening warning that 'all is not well' in their world. Then we get a look at the internal struggles of the main characters, their backgrounds, their flaws, and the unstable foundation of their society. It also gives the central characters a growth, strength, and additional tension which will all come to bear (heh heh heh, I did a thing) in season 2 when the murderer is revealed and the motivation behind it. And there's more too. Oh so much more. But, even if we didn't get another season, cleverly keeping that opening murder as nothing more than an introductory event keeps it out of the spotlight, which instead shines on the characters and their interpersonal and societal problems, allowing us to get a character arc for all 3 main characters as well as growth of a number of secondaries, while telling a fairly complete narrative. The murder doesn't contribute to any of those events other than tangentially, as do several other murderers and kidnappings mentioned throughout. I found the story setup and plotting structure quite well thought-out.

You mean Netflix holding an exclusive license for streaming BNA? If Crunchyroll had an exclusive license for it, no one would be complaining because their entire library is anime. But this is still better than before streaming was so mainstream; you would have had to gone out of your way to purchase the DVD (which are usually ridiculously expensive for what you get) just to watch it. Paying $14 for one anime is actually worth it in comparison, even if you don’t get to keep it. Exclusive licenses is just how the streaming world works today. And BNA still gets a ton more attention than all of the anime that came out 10, 15 years back just because they were so hard to watch, so we’re moving significantly in the right direction.

It's the writing that brought down BNA for me. The first episode did an amazing job setting up the world and Michiru while also pulling me in. But then immediately in the next episode her plot gets stalled into looking for her lost wallet and then completely ignored with her agreeing to teach orphans to read and write which THEN spirals into freaking human trafficking only to be saved by Ogami. And to be sure nothing is wrong with any of this episode but directly after it in episode three Michiru's and the overarching plot starts right back up again with basically nothing in episode two really mattering save for retrieving her wallet. The trend continues with random side stories like the baseball and seal girl episodes that don't really do much. I believe these things are supposed to serve as spotlights on the kind of the people who actually live in the city and while also getting to know the protagonist better but for me is really emblematic of the show's meandering and directionless feel. And that's not even mentioning a tone problem that starts in episode one and pervades the whole show; basically every single character except Michiru have little to no morality. The mink casually takes all of michiru's money for entrance into the city despite how debilitating that would be in a new place, the female mobsters tricking Michiru into teaching children so they are worth more money, the other mobsters committing murder and just generally being terrible, the people at the human party not caring or understanding(?) that the seal girl is drowning, murder being perfectly fine and accepted as long as your playing baseball, a bunch of slum goers happily about to burn someone alive, the whole cult and Michiru's childhood friend in general. The show establishes early on with two randos fighting that might makes right is how the city works but it goes too far over into bad writing for much of the series in my opinion. Then there's the entire latter half of the show that has the issues pointed out in the video here. I was so disappointed in this show because of how enthralling the art and animation are but it really doesn't even come close to coming together as a cohesive narrative on even a casual viewing.

You see him slowly evolve and use his quirk in amazing ways. Like the part with his broken finger and then his idea of the egg/pastry in the microwave. Same with the idea of being a hero. Deku wants to become a hero because he hates seeing people suffer and not being able to do anything about it. So I agree, this looks okay but I feel it needs more emotional sense and science to it and some character development.

A question for everyone: were you expecting BNA to be a 24 episode anime? I sure was. In fact, the revelation that there were only six more episodes after the first six came completely out of left field. Like, I guess a clue could have been how the OP and ED were 30 seconds less than the status quo, but that actually doesn't prove anything. I had a ton of fun with this anime, but my genuine criticism was that it was short. It's not like my experience with Kiznaiver, where I think that 12 episodes was a good choice for that anime. The reason for that is because Kiznaiver doesn't have a lotta world building going on, and unlike the other longer original anime Trigger puts out, it's the most grounded in reality. BNA has HELLA world building and lore, and 12 episodes really isn't enough to tell a story with this kind of ambition. Another thing I could say is that Alan's reveal as another immortal beastman undermines what we've learned about him and his motives, but I think it isn't as undermining as others may think because his motives are still based upon prejudice and supremacy, so I can let that slide. Definitely doesn't come anywhere close to the likes of Ragyo from Kill la Kill or Alexis from SSSS Gridman. If they actually do another season of this after the Pandemic Arc is finally over, that would really bump up my opinion about this anime. I mean, I already like it a lot, but another 12 episodes would be fantastic. They left enough room for more development anyway. There's so much potential to explore more of Animacity as well as going into more detail about the pure-blooded beastmen. Not only that, but their's room to explore how the main cast of characters go about restructuring the relations between beastmen and humans.

When I binge watched BNA I was constantly changing my mind about more episodes coming out. But then the 3 or so last episodes happened where it felt like the end. After watching them I was kinda underwhelmed. I thought something like "So the Alan twist was kinda stupid and not really foreshadowed (it was even kind of disproved by the drink he bought). Also I really thought that they would defeat Alan by using that chemical to turn beastmen into humans on him but I guess they wanted to make that fight flashy so they didn't do it and even let Alan fricking escape (which maybe could do for a second season but I kind of doubt it). The finale didn't even feel great because it was just kind of wishywashy as in not conclusive enough but also not really open ended (literally the main villian escaped and that's not open endness but a reason to make a second season - which as I said eariel I kind of doubt that they would make it). Also one more thing that I thought was stupid - I am talking about the reason that the main character was turned into a beastman. Were the blood bag that they got not marked or, I don't know, didn't have a different blood type or race written on it! (I am talking about the blood type being different for humans and beastmen which I think someone was explaining in the anime). But don't get me wrong, I didn't hate that Michiru was turned into a beastman but they could do it better. I still enjoyed watching BNA though and I agree with the series needing more episodes (at least 12 more)

I found the dolphin girl episode to be the most problematic for me since it establishes that beastmen and humans are isolated even in the internet and when Michiru's photo goes viral on social media, I kinda expected there to be backlash because the phone she bought had illegal access to humans on the internet. It didn't help that the dolphin girl is the mafia boss' daughter so I thought it would be a huge deal that she almost died but nothing came out of it. Also I felt like her seeing that post her mom made for her birthday would be a mayor factor in her deciding whether to go back but its never mentioned again. Overall I feel like this episode could be cut out because her being able to turn back into human form is only talked about once but never again

While I agree that BNA isn't amazing, I'd say that it's a little unfair to Michiru's character arc just revolved around getting to know beastmen and choosing to stay in Anima City. From the very beginning, I just assumed that Michiru was going to stay in Anima City. It's not like Michiru ever really hated Anima City or had problems with beastmen; being a beastman was just an inconvenience for her because of the life she had lived, up to that point, as a human. What I think is more interesting about her character is how she runs headfirst into situations assuming that her convictions are also the convictions of whoever she's trying to help. In this way, Nazuna's story is very much tied to Michiru, because the whole idea, at least to me, is that Michiru needed to stop insisting on saving/changing Nazuna. Furthermore, Shirou's own personality parallels that of Michiru in this case, since he too acts blindly based on his own (often misguided) beliefs. Over the course of the show, both of them learn to accept other people's viewpoints, with Michiru having to more or less let Nazuna be the idol she wants to be, and Shirou seeing, through his budding friendship with Michiru, that humans and beastmen don't always have to be at odds with one another. To elaborate a bit further: I feel similarly about both BNA and Kiznaiver, another Trigger project. Other than looking amazing, the most interesting and well-developed aspects of these shows are the interactions and relationships between specific characters. All the big stuff (i.e. plot twists and moralistic messaging) just makes the story weaker.

Mostly because I was highly skeptical of it. I run in furry circles and while I see more people gushing about Beastars, BNA has it's own fans who love the stylishness of the show. I've seen a lot of passionate artwork directly tied to the themes Beastars puts forth but I have yet to see someone liking BNA for what it's actually about rather than hype and fun jokes about it being the year of the furry and such. I'll come back to this video soon enough, and I'll see what you have to say then.

The way that reds and blacks are used in action is great. I will say that the characters although they don't have much development, they're fun. It's no beastars but I honestly fell in love with Michiru. I've never understood how some weebs can love can love a person so much until I watched it. I've always been like I like that character or love them ironically. Basically this show is enjoyable exclusively in the terms of animation, character design and music, the ending of episode 12 just ruined it for me when we learn about our antagonist being a pure beast. It really shattered everything that could build a sensible explanation of how this world works. The fact that Ginru managed to defeat the pure beast and induce a raged state in him is so ridiculous 😫 Had so many hopes for this show, it seemed quite solid to me for even a 8/10 but then the last episodes just flushed all the potential down the toilet. And I just don’t like when there are these “hax modes” in anime when a protagonist executes something that defies logic completely using his willpower or something to win.

As someone who was genuinely excited for this show, I totally agree with what you're saying. When I watched the first six episodes back in March, I was ready for this to be TRIGGER's next big hit. I loved the characters, the setting, and I was super pumped to see where the story would go. Then we get to episodes 7-12, and everything you said rings true. Watching your video has got me thinking about what BNA could've been. I still genuinly enjoy the show, but I must admit even when watching the finale, something just felt off. One more thing I wanted to mention. In one of their Q&A streams, Yoshinari Yoh (the director) revealed they had wanted to keep the show within Animacity. I think this unintentionally caused the Human vs Beastmen prjudice subplot to get ignored. I hope that this show gets a season 2, and that TRIGGER can use said season to improve on some of the plot and world building. They certainly have the groundwork for it now. And hey, this is Netflix we're talking about. There's a pretty decent chance of it happening. tl;dr Really nice video.

I kinda want them to introduce a human who likes beast-men way too much like he would be an animal fanatic or a straight up furry if they ever make a season 2 just to see a reaction from Shirou who automatically assumes all humans hate beast-men and then gets to be disgusted by to much love for comedic effect. They did say at the end of the show that humans will now be allowed to visit animaciti. Also the show was apparently rushed due to the covid situation so a lot of stuff got left out apparently.

mm. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Is there use in wondering what could have been? I'll agree that it went a bit too quick. If they did more of it, they could expand on things and bring in more of that human vs. beastman conflict. I'll agree it's not 10/10 best ever, but it's still pretty good. All down to tastes, I suppose. I suppose I have ulterior motives in hoping for its success. Been a fan of the kemono scene for a while, and if these recent kemono-heavy anime do well, chances are there will be more shows with them, or at least more of the token fanservice character in more shows for that market demographic. Japan handles that a bit more maturely than the west's general 'uwu nuzzles at u' style that's so stereotypical. Though, perhaps I'm deluded by my opinions and motives. Everywhere has their own seedy underbelly.

This is a great video! The only point I didn't really follow was the one on wanting the show to be ABOUT solving discrimination between humans and beastmen. I actually really appreciated that they didn't go that route right away. It seems like the show is designed to get more content sometime in the future, so the fact that they went so hard on solving the issues in the oppressed community FIRST actually made me super happy and felt real enough. If they're to deal with problems of oppression from others, I really think a community (in this case, beastmen) needs to work through/weed out any parts of it that are inherently self destructive. So I like that they tackled faith as a unifying/dividing force and people in poverty keeping other people in the worst dredges of their poverty down and that they have a mafia and even that the main villain was a beastman with an ability to thrive in an oppressor society too. The fact that oppression is mentioned but not something they actively deal with was kind of smart imho, just because it makes it clear that it's something that they ALL live with and understand, but because they're within the relative safety of their community they don't get the brute force of those outside problems. It forces them to focus on solving whatever tensions beastman have between each other. That said I think your analysis of their execution was spot on, because it came off...a little wonky. This unfortunately happened to both of the main villains (no one likes a last-second crazies when you were previously compelling, lotor) Still I think that the keen focus on what happens inside the city was a solid choice. Oh and IDK if we were supposed to think that the 'drowning Nina' scene was supposed to be an accident. I read it pretty clearly as 'non-oppressed people who do social media activism because its trendy but in reality don't care about the people they're supporting'. I MIGHT be projecting there but the fact that it was a beastman costume party that they went to in the first place (cultural appropriating because lol fun) seemed like a pretty clear tie into that ideal.

One of my main complaints is the pacing itself was just all over the place. It really threw me off the show. Beastars had a nice pacing that slowly build up to the final episodes. Beastars feels like an actual roller coaster building up to the climatic last few episodes while using its filler episodes properly to show more about the world we are watching while, as you stated with BNA, it explained portions of the world then left it as background noise and wasn't ever really touched up on again.

@@dylancoles3314 "hey should have either committed to the story or had the story develop in the background of multiple filler episodes. E.g.: one of the early episodes showed that there is a crime syndicate in the city and that women apparently have a low status in beastmen society; implying a "might makes right" social structure. This is further suggested by the baseball episodes, where MURDER is allowed during a sports event. After that they completely ignored it and never mentioned it again.

honestly coming into this video, i was like “what the heck? i thought bna was pretty good” but after watching this video i realize that this show had so much potential :( of course i still enjoyed the show since i typically enjoy most shows i watch, but it could’ve been amazing! i loved many things about this show, but the story should’ve been more expanded and in depth. nazuna suddenly going from a toxic friend to part of the team confused me, i wish they could’ve taken more time on her arc so they could truly develop her character. i so do would’ve liked to see change between beastmen and humans, it’s so bizarre to me that this show was supposed to be about the oppression beastmen faced from humans! i wish there were more humans in the plot line so this could become apparent. lastly, i wish they actually changed something between humans and beastmen. its clear that they tried to make it seem like they did by letting humans into anima city, but for true change the oppressors have to change the way they behave too. they definitely took a different approach, michiru wanted to go back to being a human but at the end she liked being a beastman more and warmed up to anima city. of course it’s key that she warmed up to the city and her beastman form, but it would’ve been great to see the series stretch far enough in order for her to test her boundaries. rather than warming up to her new life in a way that makes it seem like she’ll never leave, she should stay in anima city but reach out to people of her past, it would’ve helped show the change between humans and beastmen. oh, and i said lastly before, but i still have one little comment- the whole aLaN iS a BeAsTmAn thing is SO freaking cliché 😤 like of course there’s a super op boss for the main hero to beat, and he was right there T_T man i loved the colors in that scene and all throughout this show, but i wish they made they’re own twists and turns that made the show more interesting- and they could’ve gone without the pointless fillers lmao (they were enjoyable, but maybe if the series was longer they could’ve been spaced out to make things fun once in a while, instead we got them all in a row :/) BUT THE OP AND ENDINGS ARE ABSOLUTE BOPS I LISTENED TO THEM FOR ALL 12 EPISODES 🙈

this is a great take to have! personally im not into action as an appeal for a show, so kill la kill felt really boring partway through when i watched it cuz action was so central and i ended up losing interest and never finished it. BNA felt the right amount of short and sweet to engage me without just being filled with tons of fights to get sick of, at first i was reluctant of the premise of michiru shapeshifting and i couldnt tell whether it was just comedic art style or a genuine feature, but it ended up really growing on me by the end and made everything actually more fun to watch! the plot definitely was predictable in a lot of aspects, and i feel stupid for not predicting that blonde bitch would have the EXACT same plot twist as kray foresight - which in comparing to trigger's film promare, i think that ought just further show predictable =/= bad! i totes get how characters couldve been explored a lot more, but i like to just appreciate the subtext and everything that they did their best to convey anyways :^)
